Ok, from what I heard on KA-T, even if I wanted to boost 2psi, i needed the BTM to retard the timing. Now, i'm reading on here that I really only need it if i'm boosting over 8-10psi. my goal is for 6 psi while i'm on an FMU but when I can afford an SAFC and 370's, i'm moving up to 8psi. Can someone give me a definite answer on this?

you can use 8psi without having to retard timing. dont go any higher without retarding timing. if you plan to go 10 psi or something, u can always retard base timing by like 3 degrees to be safe, other than that, your all set!

Exactly...^^^...and 8 psi requires a good amount of fuel to keep the combustion charge cooled off and high octane fuel. The BTM is a great inexpensive way to run a decent amount of boost though.

yeah i've decided to change my plan and go with some 370's and an SAFCII and sell the FMU and keep/install the MSD BTM. Anyone have a set of 370's they want to sell? Also, what all do I need for the BTM install? Do I need an MSD External Coil and/or MSD Digital 6 ignition thingy? I'm so lost when it comes to igntion.

Everything you need comes with the BTM. You can either get just the BTM or the MSD 6 BTM.

I have been digging on the BTM and the Crane Cams version (whatever they call it) or MS&S 3.0.. But to keep it easy is there a controller that anyone knows of for the i.C.E pak (Jacob's). I have called Mr. Gasket, the new owners of jacob's and they are all a bunch of renobs. Can a contoller be wired in. I WANT SIC BOOST FOR SERIOUSLY. My turbo maps out to 519, I want 300!

all i can say by retarding timing u avoiding detonation, but also loosing power. power lays in timing. instead of btm and decresed timing why not increase fuel wioth your safc , increasing fuel retards timing itself. i ean if u running 12-20psi than yah adding more fuel isn't enough timing needs to be reduced too. but dump your gadgets and get standalone or biki board

adding fuel also loses HP because you would be running rich with the added fuel. and also you would be using a lot more gas by running so rich.
