so as some of you know, i just acquired one of these coils due to some store credit. nontheless, i read the directions and im kinda confused. It says i need to split two wires which would be routed i figure into the positive and negative slots on the msd coild. Then i figure the wire coming from the distributer would plug onto the node on the msd coil. So, which wires am i splicing and there were no hood clearance issues if mounted where the stock coil is correct? Pics would be great..............

BTW i did run a search

The black wire with a red stripe goes to the positive side of the coil. The green wire with a black stripe goes to the negative side of the coil. These are the wires running to the stock coil. Its a two wire plug going into the front of the coil. Really hard to miss. You'll have to remove some of the black insulation going aroudn the two wires.

would this be the plug underneath the red ignition wire coming from the distributor or the plug thats in front of / near to the chip that has its own plug on that metal bracket?

this is a response that i got from an MSD tech guy on MSD's tech forums.

"We're not going to have a specific diagram but what we can tell you is to use the "points/amplifier" diagram in the 6 series instructions. Your coil has 2 wires. The green/black will go to the white wire on the MSD, and the black/red will go to the small red wire on the MSD. Black and orange from the MSD will now go to the coil."

Ight.

You can see my wiring of the BTM. You can also see that I moved the ignitor chip down into the intake tray area.

That purple wire going to my coil is your Black w/ red stripe. Now that red wire running to my BTM will go right to your coil on the negative side. And on your car, it will be Green w/black stripe. I only have those colors because I had to extend from cutting and trying different setups.

But you can see that both the ignitor chip and the other lil harness are down by my air filter. You won't need to get any wires off the dizzy. Both wires are right there.

Sorry to bump up a really old thread but i didn't want to start a new one on the same topic.

I keep seeing everyone say that there are 2 wires. The big plug that plugs by my ignition coil has 3, Green, black, and white.

Am i lookin at the wrong plug?

Wrong plug. Look under the coil on the body sheetmetaland peel back the electrical tape. It's right there.
