I know the sci is for imports but I think its more for honda and acura Vtec high reving motors, since it mentions 10,000 rpms.

So I was wondering if anyone has used both setups the MSD6AL and the MSD SCI. which would be better for a ka24de running 11.6 to 1 compression. I think I'm going with the MSD6AL but I just wanted to make sure I wasnt making a mistake so any input would be nice.

ALSO Does anyone know what rpm the rev limiter is on a ka24de? Im still breaking my motor in so Im scared to hit it myself. I know it cuts fuel and msd6al cuts spark so I just hope the msd cuts before the stock limiter.

You can adust the msd rev limiter w/ pills or a seperate switch i'm pretty sure. I think the stock rev limiter is about 7K correct me if I'm wrong though (I didn't really mean to find that out).

I have the 6AL and it works wonderfully. Get the blaster coil with it, it makes a difference. I do believe you get the 7k plug in with the ignition, but you can get a pack of like 5 modules for $25 or so, i have mine set at 6800. And sorry, i dont know what the KA24DE ECU rev limiter is set at.

115mph in 4th and 5th gear. Like 6650 rpm, and 5xxx I think. I have pushed mine up to 135mph because it forgets to cut off sometimes I guess.

the only problem with the 7000 rev limiter is that the factory fuel cut off is 6900 so if your running nitrous and you happen to miss a gear and floor it its going to cut fuel before spark and you'll find that pistons dont like to run lean with no2 in the cylinders So I decided to get a MSD Digital 6 plus which has afully adjustable rev limiter so I set mine at 6700 so that the worst that will happen is it runns to rich and gunks the plugs instead of melting a hole in your pistons.
