MSD 6AL install- Please read!

Hey guys, I did search this subject but got unclear help. This will go on a 92' KA24de.

My question is- can I remove the stock coil & power transistor & repace it with just the Blaster coil? I'm not clear on whether removal of the power transistor & wiring up the 6AL & coil is ok or not.

Also, anyone know if NGK wires are carbon core OR spiral-wound?

Goes something like this

Stock coil wiring --> Blaster Coil --> MSD Box

and

Heavy Red: Full time 12V (Battery) Heavy Black: Ground Red: 12V "Key on" Orange: (+) coil Black: (-) coil

Frankly, I think ignition boxes are a waste of money.
