Anyone have one of these. If so do you need a tach addapter for it or anything else to make it work?

Lots of people (although not me) have them.

I did NOT have to use a tach adapter with my MSD 6a box, even though MSD said I would have to. Its weird, sometimes people need them, sometimes they dont. I reccomend you install it and if your tach goes wacky, get the adapter.

The instructions don't say where to hook up off the distributer of a nissan. If you have one what wires did you hook up from the msd box to your distributor. thanks

The MSD doesnt hook up to the dizzy directly- it goes to the coil.

MSD --> Coil --> Dizzy

(Sigh okay you REALLY should do some research before you continue to ask these questions. Also, it doesnt seem like you understand whats going on under the hood very well. Are you sure you want to start splicing wires?)

The dizzy has 5 wires coming off of it as you said - 4 of them are for your 4 spark plugs, the 5th (center) one is the "source" of the spark from the coil. The coil has a + and a - on it, those connect to the MSD using the + and - coil wires. I believe they are orange and white, both thin. Not sure though. On the bottom of your MSD there should be a diagram telling you what wires are what.

I'm not talking about the plug wires i'm talking about the harmess plug that is on the distributer. I don't need to go into any of those wires. That was what i was asking. I was asking because of the tach signal to the ecu. That why I asked if I need a tach adapter. because if it send a wrong signal to the ecu my safc 2 is not going to work right. My external tach will work fine. i know that. i was worried about the ecu. Why would you think i was talking about the plug wire? lol
