If I am not using a MSD 6 BTM for retarding the timing is it possible to use it just for the multi spark function and if so how do I do it? I am going with an after market ecu that will automatically adjust the timing s I really dont need the BTM. However I would like to use it for a hotter spark. Is this possible or do I need to just sell it and get the 6al? If I can use the BTM as a multi spark unit do I still need the msd adapter 9810? whats the difference from 9810 and the 9810 EIS? Lastly will my Nology wires affect the MSD? I have a 1992 240sx with a 1997 block, 1992 accessories and 1992 ecu. Thanks.

i use the MSD 6A for multispark only..the AL has a upper and lower rpm limiter i believe..you dont need the Al vertion..but..if your vertion is capable of retading the timing....then..you need to be able to turn the function off..or you will need to go stock..or 6A..thats all i can say bro..good luck

Actually I called MSD and was told I could use this unit as a multi spark by just not connecting the vacuum port on the MSD 6 BTM. Thanks for being the only one to respond.

It's all good. Thanks for the fast reply though. I have sold the MSD and I am getting an MSD 6a instead and saved myself about $120. That extra money is going into paying for the JWT ecu I am having them customize to my specs. $500+ ouch. But it will be worth it.
