Ok I asked earlier on a Mrev2 with a spacer and all answers I got was... YOU WILL NEED FUEL MODS DONE ITS WORTHLESS.So here is what I think of your answers...BULL****........lolmy friends from TeamZRP (hight performance licenced mechanic) said that they doubt it. SO I listened to them and I bought Mrev2. Now I got a Modordyne plenum spacer, stillen airbox with Ztube and MREV2.I finally got it installed. so to all you guys with 03 sedans with nonerevup engine, it is worth it, car runs great(not lean like some said it would).I can accually feel the difference in the car.I dont know how its possible but I even feel how that car shift gears little quicker.my next mod should be Stillen Cat back. But I need to hear the sound first.I dont want the sound like those CIVICs cruzin around the block 300 times a day think their car is the ****.anyone with experience on that typical stillenCatback... please let me know how it sounds.THANKS PEEPZ

So, did you dyno before and after and get a reading of your AF ratios?

How do you know it's not running lean? Do you have a wideband hooked up? Let me know, I might make the swap in the future.

lol Jerome always beats me to asking the question ...

But did you ???, you really cant feel your car run lean\rich unless its MAJOR lean \ rich ...

GET HER DYNOED W\ the AF ratio , then we will see ....and PSWE DIDNT Make up that answer... the makers did

Nah I dont have wideband hooked up, I dont even know what it is.But if it ran lean it would take away the HP not give. The truth is,I put my spacer with stillen intake and I didnt really feel much difference. But after the Mrev2 i felt a HUGE difference in acceleration...Ill be buying the Gtech so ill be able to tell how much HP car has and then ill know how much mrev2 gave.

A wideband measures fuel/air ratio.

Running lean will give you MORE power. Rich boggs you down. Well, lean to a degree, but that can cause overheating/ oil burning, plug fouling, valve problems etc...

You may want to brush up on your combustion engine theories and do a little more research....

Not to rain on youyr parade, but installing a wideband to check your air/fuel ratio then uninstalling it is not that common. I checked the site and they seem alright, but everyone does on their own webpage. I would seriously look at finding another mechanic (one that speaks english) to check the A/F ratio. If you are running really lean (you will have a lot more power) and will be taking the risk of SERIOUS damege to your car. That damage probably won't be covered by warrenty either.

Ok so ill rain on your parade. Just for the hell of it we hooked it up to a wideband again. ( this time i was there). So thats how it runsWhen crusin AFR is 14.7 while flooring it at high speeds and RPMs it drops to 13.4 ... no lower. which is good.BUT NOW TO RAIN ON YOUR PARADE EVEN MORE THOSE CARS COME OUT WITH DUAL WIDEBANDS. SO IF IT WAS RUNNING LEAN OR RICH I WOULD KNOW. EACH ONE IS FOR EACH SIDE OF THE ENGINE.No hard feeling beancooker

JEROMES13 now I guess you brush up you engine theories. When i Posted that I wanted to show that no fuel mods need to be done after Mrev2 installment. Why you got to be another G35 hater?cuz i got a mrev2 and u dont?I wouldnt post that if it werent true.

not a mechanic myself but i don't see why the computer wouldn't adjust to the Mrev2 any different than the spacer or intake. don't flame me!!!! i prefaced that with "not a mechanic."

i've been looking at a ground wire kit and MAYBE NOS but i haven't done enough research, yet. looks like my next mod might be the Mrev2.

it sounds like you you've got some good info. don't let these guys get you down. they all told me the underdrive pulley was a horrible idea and i'm STILL LOVING IT with no probs.

BTW WhiteyClay.... looks like we've got the same exact color, wheels, and body kit!!!! NICE!

Sup Chad1200I see that you got a stillen catback.Thats my next mod, but the thing is that I dont want a LOUD sound. How does it sound? Can you compare to the sound of a Coupe or FX45?

not the same sound. the infiniti sound on those exhausts are pretty specific.

the Stillen sounds good. i got the quiet one (they make 2 for our cars). it doesn't sound fart canny like the civics but it also doesn't sound like a V-8. it's a pretty unique sound actually. nice mix of performance and style. you can deffinitely hear it, though, even with the windows up and the radio on. it was actually a little louder than i wanted but it grows on you.... especially at 6000 rpm! the hp gain was noticable, too. i'd reccomend it. it's not obnoxious at all, but still noticable.

the other ones i hear are too loud.

here's why they're saying it'll run lean. this is the exact description from everythingg35.com.

The average power gains on a 260 or 280hp motor (non-rev-up) are better than the 5/16" spacer. This modification increases power across a very wide rpm range. The MREV2 should be used without a spacer on the standard engine, unless fuel/ECU modifications have been performed as it may cause the engine to run lean. The power gains on a 298hp REV-Up motor are similar to the earlier MREV kits, when used with a 5/16" spacer kit. The 5/16" Spacer is recommended for the REV-Up engines as it will help safely increase power, when used with the MREV2 collector. This setup averages 15+hp and 18+ft.lbs in the upper midrange (approx 4500-5000rpms). Many independent tests have shown even higher gains as well!

I bought it in a local store FULLTHROTLE.I know the guys there so it costed me around 400$.( You can get it at EverythingG35.com I think its 460$ there)And we changed it with the guys from the club over the weekend while BBQ.It took about 45min. You just got to use a tourqe wrench when you put it back together ( dont go over 100lb on the top bolts on your manifold cuz u might mess up the thread. Aluminum is pretty soft.)If youre not sure on what you're doin then its better to pay and get it done by a mechanic. Incase he messes something up you can go back and stab him in his jaw.lolBTW after you recieve ur mrev2 you can send ur old one as core and ull get 125$ back.

If you read your quote that I was originally referring to, you stated that an engine running lean will take power away. This isn't true. A car that is running a little lean will actually produce more power, but be more susceptible to engine damage.

Okay Whitey, no need to get yourself all worked up into a froth. I am glad that it is not running lean. I say that it is uncommon to hook up a wideband, then to unhook it, well, because it is. Usually you buy one and leave it hooked up.
WhiteyClay wrote: BUT NOW TO RAIN ON YOUR PARADE EVEN MORE THOSE CARS COME OUT WITH DUAL WIDEBANDS. SO IF IT WAS RUNNING LEAN OR RICH I WOULD KNOW. EACH ONE IS FOR EACH SIDE OF THE ENGINE.No hard feeling beancooker
You will know because you will get a CEL light, and code P0171 ( bank 1 too lean) and P0174 (bank 2 too lean)?

Okay, so what car has dual widebands? The G35? Stock? If so, I was cheated, because I don't have an A/F ratio gauge in my car. I am fully aware that the ECU monitors the A/F ratio and on both banks, but that is not a wideband. That is caled OBD2.

Here is a link to many wideband A/F meters

As far as the article from everythingg35, I had never read it. I know a fair amount about Nissan products, and happen to believe in what the manufacturer of a product (motordyne) says, when they say don't do this. So we were all wrong. Good. I am glad it works for you.

I'm not trying to be a prick. I want good information, and at the start of this thread, you said "Nah I dont have wideband hooked up, I dont even know what it is." and the reason I said to find a mechanic that speaks english is because you said something about "not understanding them, because they weren't speaking english" however you edited that part "Modified by WhiteyClay at 6:49 PM 9/18/2007".

I have no hard feelings at all, I just want good valid info, for myself and others, especially before I go drop a few hunderd bucks on an intake setup. I am glad it works, and I am sure that you feel we were being "haters?" or whatever. I am not "hating" on you I just want facts. Plain and simple. Looks like we know now.

Ok bro you got me wron.... I Ment to say that whe the dude hooked it up tp wide band and i was geting drunk in the garage he came back and said sometin.... so since i was wasted a little all i understood was japanese of chinese.... thats all i ment.BUt as I posted the ratios on the car it runs great. 14.5- 14.7 CRUSINwhen im floring it on Hight RPMs it drops down to the lowest 13.2and yes i know it aint ease to hook up a wide band. It took about 30 minThis is the wideband we used " Innovate LM-1 Air/Fuel Ratio Meter (KIT) Part # 3723 Our price: $349.99 "

beancooker and Jerome 13....

Running lean does not give you more power...

You get best power by running slightly RICH! This way every molecule of air gets used up and you get maximum power. This is why all engines are set to run rich at wide open throttle, because this is when you are trying to get most power out of it...

If you run lean then you are not taking full advantage of all the air, and there is potential to get more power by adding even more fuel.... ALL the way until you hit stoichiometric.

Just thought I'd clarify that...
