The MREV is a mod that benefits the REVUP version of the VQ35DE. No M35 has ever come with it. They come with the non revup version and do not benefit from the MREV enough to make it worth the $$. Please don't guess when giving someone advice... Im not. Also the newer, higher rev version isnt called a VQ35DE.seymore4 wrote:The MREV is a mod that benefits the REVUP version of the VQ35DE. No M35 has ever come with it. the Z-tube and stock air box (with or without K&N drop in) will do just fine
-- I didn't go the route of a CAI (stillen) since I've had prior experience with a 'similar' CAI when I had a modded BMW 325i (did an M3 engine swap) and installed the Dinan CAI. It looked nice (the Carbon Fiber tube) which the cone filter sat just near/behind the fog light. To me, it felt like it was a delay or lag for air to be brought to the engine -- during cruising, but at WOT and on the fwy it was good...Just didn't feel the need to try and get the CAI for the Infiniti...
NGK Plat Spark Plugs
the 5/16 Plenum spacer works great
-- great mod that provides mid and high end HP/TQ
the MREV2 with the Motordyne lower plenum gasket
-- improves upper midrange end HP
Berks HFC's
-- great mod: reduced weight compared to stock cats...better flow, provides aggressive sound to exhaust system and provides better torque
Megan Mid pipe & Axle Backs
-- easy plug and play, better flow and sound
Motordyne xyz pipe
-- replaces stock Ypipe for better flow (I currently have the xyz w/Resonator module, but waiting for the HFC on order) -- the HFC module will help with the Berks.
Grounding Kit
-- stealth mod that improved my electrical system as well as the transmission shifts
**Headers would be good, but will cost a lot for install...
Uprev Tune
-- you can do yourself or have your car tuned at a Pro-Tuner w/dyno
I got my car dialed in with Uprev and all the performance mods that I added is all balanced to provide HP/TQ, MPG, and proper Air/Fuel ratio...as far as measurable gains, I think after all the mods were installed and getting the tune, I gained at the wheels approx 63hp/35tq over my baseline run...
...sounds like you're on the fast track to modding your recent purchase --

Dude, have you even read any of my posts??? I agree that the VQ35HR is a completely different motor. I'm telling you that there are two different versions of the DE motor.EniGmA1987 wrote:Im not going to argue about it anymore with you. I have posted dyno shows and experiences others have had, all you have shown is your words about how it doesnt do anything. Post some dyno shots of it not doing anything or go post somewhere else.
The VQ35DE and VQ35HR are two different engines, not different versions. The HR model not only has dual air intakes but also has multiple changes inside the engine that you cant see just by looking at them.
Just look for a used one online.... G forums sell them all the time... I got mine used and paid less than 280.... If I remember correctly. I installed the MREV2 myself so my overall savings was greatTwizz wrote:****Update****
So I went to the shop on Monday, and I asked the person that tunes the cars and builds engines about this matter. He said that getting it wouldn't be a bad idea. He said that it would basically provide a better and more even middle of the power band. So I will look into getting this done. It's pricey though. The MRev itself is like 500 plus the install and tune and the planum spacer as well. A lot of $$$$
Lol. Well he wasn't really trying to sell me on it. I asked him n he have me an honest answer. They make more than enough money even without my measly $600IlyaKol wrote:Of course he'd tell you that. lol. He's trying to make money to feed his family.
