Anyone have info on the MR20DE engine in the X-Trail, Dualis, or Slyphy in Japan? I wonder if it is a bigger version of the MR18DE / MR16DE we have in the V. Perhaps we have some options from the MR20 that we could transplant into the MR18 for more power?

Ok, I used the search function (yes, it does still work) and found my answer(s). Thanks to those that never answered.

Thought the MR20DE is in the Sentra. Still .2l is not worth the trouble of an engine swap.

I think a Renault Clio Sport 2.0 swap would be cool if it would fit. But again, would it be worth it? I doubt it.

I would actually like my Versa a lot more than I do if I found out I could do an engine swap (that was worth doing). I like the design of the car and everything just if I could make it faster!

Now thats a dream..

The 2.0L is a bigger motor than your 1.6L. It's the same series. I think it will fit in your sedan. Find a wrecked Sentra and put it in your sedan. It'll add another 30hp with just the motor swap.

30hp for for thousands of $ though. And that's if you do everything yourself, much less if you pay for labor.

If you spend all this money just to get a 30hp increase, than that's seriously a big waste of money. I think I saw some type of "supercharged" intake for the Versa that was about $300 and gave you like 15hp or something like that.

Once there is a engine swap worth doing. I'll definitely waste a million dollars on getting them swapped.

What about the SE-R engine?

I'd like to know this too. Some of my friends and I were measuring my Versa's engine compartment and they're convinced we can fit an SE-R engine in it. Has this ever been tried?

The SE-R engine is the QR25, which would technically fit under the hood. It won't easily connect to the car or the stock transmission. I'd be a big project to undertake, but it could be done.

The MR20DE is a bigger bore MR18. Same dimensions, and should have the same mounting points. Now the MR20 comes 150hp to the crank, and if you CAN find it cheap, I would say mod it mildly and it should last. Now, only if you can find it a cheap price. Does the MR18DE 6 speed transmission bolts to the MR20 engine? If so, you just saved up some money. With enough money, anything can be done.
