Sounds like a swap ? Or swappable part ?

Id kinda like to know compression ratio, if there were any reinforcements made the block to pull it off. Just makes me wonder what a mr18de would be like with a small lil efficiency turbo like a golf(spools soft and early, just enough to feed like 4-6 psi from 2200 to 6k), that or you know... like natural gas and 15:1 compression ratio :P

It's a direct injection so my guess it will be like most new direct injection engine which runs like near the 10:1

If the turbo from the MR16DDT is swappable onto the Versa's MR18, I'm very interested to see how that's going to open the door to a wider world of turbo-tuned Versas.

from what I have seen, some of the parts are swappable to the MR18. I still think we will need a fuel management system to control the MR18, but the exhaust may be useable. I don't think the intercooler and intake will be 100% useable on a Versa. There may be enough there to make a system with a few tweaks.

I'd rather have enough to make a system with a few tweaks than have to try and build one from scratch ;)

Fuel/engine managment will still be the dealbreaker.

It's always possible someone will take the hint and start making turbo kits specific for the MR18. One can only hope...

Currently I doubt it would happen. Out of all the Versa's sold, a very small percentage are looking to boost them. Just not worth the R&D money to produce something that might not sell enough to break even.

True. So I guess it'll probably be up to the tuners themselves. Wait a couple years, find a wrecked Juke at a pay-to-pull yard, and then just experiment.

If nissan was smart they would have used the same exhaust manifold design, this way it would bolt right up to the MR18de. the engine management stuff can be tweaked with the use of many electronic devices. just need the manifold and i would be good to go! I think! lol

If they used the same exhaust manifold design - the MR16DDT would be an inferior engine.
