Heres what i got up untill now got my coupe as a shell for 100 bucks off a friend lol he was a honda guy. It was flat black when i got it so i figured pink would be fun. Its rust free but no where near a show car. (if you look close you can see my 302 rx7 and my daily an 08 wrx) :) Image Image I ran it stock for a while then got a gt28r and that woke it up quite a bit. Then came the need for more boost of course so i threw in some dsm 650's and a z32 maf and decided on nistune for engine management. Ran it at 1 bar and it moved pretty good for what it was. the stock brakes were scary so i got some j30 calipers and rotors what a difference they were over stock. then i got a snow perf. meth injecton kit and ran more timing thats was a noticable power increase. But since this is not my daily i figured a bigger turbo and forged internals would be fun for a hillclimb car and maybe some track days. So after a winter of stocking up on parts heres what i got Image Image Image Image Image Image Image

So as you can see i got a fully prepared block it was decked line bored, bored to 83.5mm and i got arp main and head studs. I also got that nasty hx35 that should be able to suppy enough power to never get bored of, i ordered the bullseye perf 3.0" vband housing its .70 ar and should help spool. the crank was knife edged and full rotating assy was balanced thats why the rods rods have writing on them. the head i havent gotten back yet and it has tomei springs and supertech valves. ill get pics up once i get it back. I have all gaskets all i need is bearings then the assembly will begin. I cant wait to see the lag i'll have with this setup lol I'm still up in the air if i want cams or not cause i need a cage and funds are getting low after the machine shop bill.

Looking good man! I'd keep the stock cams for now and get a cage for safety. The cams only take a few hours to replace, so it won't be a big deal to do later when the motor is back in the car.

Thanks. Yea thats what I was figuring. Just trying to get it together and broken in before July thats when the local hillclimb event is. You have any idea when I should see boost with a hx35 with a .70 housing dsm guys get full boost by 4k or slighty after. And there only 2 liters. As long as I get some sort of positive pressure by then I'll be happy.

It will depend a lot on your exhaust manifold design. Is the turbine housing a single scroll, or a twin scroll?

It's a single and It's just a cheap ebay manifold.

If the 2L are spooling by 4K, you should at least see some boost by then.

If your looking to spool a little earlier, hear tell the hy35 has a smaller exhaust housing and spools quicker.

Image got most of it together over the weekend. Ran into 1 problem couldnt get my timing gear off my old engines crank so i'll have to order one monday. Then all thats left is hot side intercooler piping adjusting turbo oil drain and a downpipe to make and in a perfect world it should run lol.

Chisel that b**** off.
Drill a hole into the face of the gear and then put a chisel in between two teeth of the gear over the hole, WHACK! The gear splits in two or at least cracks open and slides off.

I was buying a new oil pump for mine anyways when i rebuilt it so i just beat on the back of the old oil pump with a dead blow. it took a few min but it slid off. take a little emory cloth and lightly rub the end of the crank to remove any rust, metal transfer or burrs if any are left

yeah its stuck on my old block i started messing up the teeth yanking on it with a slide hammer so i figure another 30 or so dollars for a new one would'nt hurt i got it 90 percent of the way off but i can see alot of rust between the pulley and crank i'll spray it up some more and worry about next rebuild time lol.

well its been a while since i updated this i dropped it in only to find my turbo hits the master cylinder . So i then decided to build a log manifold which I'm very happy how it came out this is my first time ever making anything like this but i think it came out alright if it cracks it cracks lol total cost for supplies around 100 bucks only . Image I really like the fitment looks like I'll clear the p/s pump and lines i may just need to reposition the reservoir but that's no big deal Image Image next project is drill a hole and weld the external gate on then make a downpipe. Just some advice stainless is so ridiculous to cut i dont have a chop saw just a band saw but it didnt like cutting it.

Do you happen to have the original twin-entry turbine housing, or did you get the turbo with the BEP housing on it already?
In case you do have it:
Is it wastegated? What size?

Oh, ok, thanks. I was looking for a non-wastegated 12cm2 one. I have the same housing, then.

I guess the non gated ones are pretty rare that was my original plan but I found a deal for the bep housing for $200 I believe shipped so I figured why not the v band was the selling factor
