EPA fuel economy estimates for city and highway driving for the earliest model year was 14 and 18mpg. The latest model year was 16 and 21mpg. The R50 Pathfinders were very much the same estimates. I'm always looking for any tech tip performance upgrade that would beat the EPA estimates for my '02 Pathfinder. Have you done any modifications to your '00 QX4 to improve fuel economy?

18 on the highway. The issue with these models is the power to weight ratio. I can't imagine any modification to these vehicles that would significantly improve fuel economy short of a diesel engine transplant.

The best tank ever? I got 22.5 one time. Several tanks in the low 22 range and occasionally over 20, typically at altitude and warm weather, both of those things play a real role but not much you can do about them, just depends on where and when you're going.

Typically it's 16-17 in occasional use locally, 18.1 on vacation with regular and 18.8 on vacation with premium. My vacations are a mix of a lot of highway, a bunch in National Parks and some low range 4WD miles, so far from only highway. The poor mileage while expected is none the less disappointing, so I gave it some thought, and I think 20 is achievable, at least for Pathfinders, less so for Q's.
