Those of you that have a CA18DET thats running with ideal A/F ratios what kind of gas mileage are you getting? I know the SR20 will do 20s and up to 30 highway, but how does the CA18DET compare? Yeah i'm cheap and i need my 240 to have good MPG when i'm not flogging it.

I didnt get to record my MPG when I had my CA but it was like ~20 mpg.

My SR 240 gets 20 mpg (off boost, about 325 miles per tank) and my 92 SER got 18 mpg (bone stock, 240 miles per tank)

i was getting around 25 for a while, then my O2 sensor died and now i get about 20. i'm also running running alor richer from my walbro over-running my FPR. i think i could get around 27-28 with an adjustable FPR, good O2, and a nice S-AFC adjustment.

when mine was running correctly (on its ill-fated drive to atlanta that is) it managed 420-450 miles on a tank (well, on about 13.5 gallons. thats when my gas gauge bottoms out, but the manual says it has a 16 gallon tank). i think thats pretty damn good if you ask me. around town i see about 300-340 miles to a tank. since it isnt tuned right now it is getting about 3 mpg i think. i drove it a total of about 15 miles and i used a quarter of a tank of gas. its really gay.

I've been wondering if my Walbro might be overruning the stock FPR myself, since its getting *** mileage and runs really rich and bogs below ~1500-2000 rpm, but once it gets past that takes off fast. I have the 255lph high pressure pump, so it seems likely..

I can go to and from work (~30 miles) about 5-6 times on a tank (or at least when it says empty) ... Of course I'm not ususally driving miss daisy

i used to get about 26mpg on the highway with the stock t25 but running the stand alone so it was not even close to a 14.7 AFR for cruising on the highway.

O.O I was checking the FSM and CA FPR regulates down to 36.3 while KA goes to 43.4

So no wonder the CA FPR isn't holding up as well as the KA one, its having to try harder to begin with!

I found that Courtesy has the Nismo FPR on their site, its a tad more expensive than some online places but if its in stock (haven't checked yet) then I can have it immediately w/ no shipping (and shipping would be about the same as tax at most places anyways).

Now I'll just need a real fuel pressure gauge gizmo to set it correctly..

you can also get it from heavy throttle. cant find it on their site, but if you type in "nismo fpr" in the "search" box itll bring you up the tomei and nismo units.

my fpr isnt being overrun at idle, but im not sure other than that. would explain why my car blows black smoke like a freaking steel mill. anyone know what my fuel pressure needs to be at at anything other than idle? thanks!

It should be the base at 0 psi or less, then 1psi higher for every psi of boost pressure, right?

I understood it to be referenced to manifold vacuum/pressure, so varying always but maintaining 36.3 difference so that the pressure difference gives a reliable injection.. if the manifold pressure changed seperately even at vacuum it would make for unstable fuel delivery as the pressure or vacuum would change the amount of fuel being delivered for a given injector pulse width...
