Well, I would love to rave about how great this product is , but I can't figure out how to install the dang thing and was wondering if someone could help me out.

It is the Fitch Fuel Catalyst...you can read about it here http://www.fitchfuelcatalyst.c...s.cfm

It was enough "third party" testimonial to sell me and I would love to tell you how well it works, but like I said, I am a little confused.

The thing is an in-line fuel treatment and I'm a little confused. I see the fuel pressure regulator and fuel damper...I am close to the right area???

Its a 2001 qx4. I have been through the service manuals and continue to struggle with which line to tap into.

While still a newbie...I love this forum

Save your money is my opinion. now gas is high and the stuff is really coming bigger and better. There is always stuff like this. Few do much. I don't know what it cost, but even if it did do what they say, how many miles before you would break even?

Also to consider is simply running more air in your tires. Try 38 cold. That works over 28psi and is free.

Also driving slower and steady, and keeping your engine running good.Air filter, mass air, plugs can help even.

But I am not saying you are a sucker, sometimes things do work. I just don't even see exactly what it does, other than claims and claims.

If you mess up your injectors with that special metal whatever inside that thing, or if it messes up your valves or something, then would they cover that? user error?

Sometimes cleaning your fuel systems can help if it needs it. I say snake oil. But like I said, I could easily be wrong.

Acetone in tiny amounts was shown by some to work actually. Might be cleaning effect. 3 oz for 10 gallons I believe. Home Depot or elsewhere.q45 forum did stuff on this.

I agree... not only snake oil, but the claim to increase octane may in fact be completely useless on a pathfinder. Personally, I tried premium fuel in my Pathy, and found that I got worse mileage than with regular (Yes, I track it on every fill-up... 18.2mpg on my last tank). Our trucks are designed to run on regular, anything more and you are wasting your $$. The best way to increase milage on a Pathy is to keep it maintained.
