Noticed on a recent two-day trip that the MPG shown on the large dash screen does not match the small matrix -- off by 4-5 mpg. The matrix display matches the previous mpg for the same trip. Filled up, reset every thing, and the same error………. What say yee?

Never trust that one...use the figures you get when you add gas/reset trip odo.

+1

and you would have to reset both the matrix and the large display at the same time to have them match as they are actually independent calculations. You would think they would just pull info from the same spot but they dont. This is the same for the maintence reminders on the matrix display and the one on the large display.

some people use the matrix display to get a "life time" MPG estimate and use the large display to get a "per trip" estimate or vice versa.

Over the past two years, 36K mi, both displays have been right-on..... I thought there might be something I could do, but, I guess not, this has become a dealer issue. It will be our first trip to the dealer with this great car....... Never took it back for anything...... oil, filter, and rotation elsewhere.
