MP3 Folder Navigation

Am curious if MP3 folder navigation is possible while playing a song at the same time. For instance, if I have a song playing from CD1 and try to navigate to another song or folder on CD1, the MP3 that is currently playing stops, and a new song starts to play.

I would much rather have the current song keep playing while I search for another song to play. Then, when I select it, it'd start playing.

Is there a way to achieve this, or am I S.O.L.
