I just dl'ed Firefox and am using it, but it seems to be slower than IE was.

Is there something else I can do to expedite page loading?

On every computer of silly friends that I've used it on it seems slower than IE aswell.

Oh snap! Lemme run Linux for no reason other than to make me feel like a cool script kiddie, not like all those sheep that use lesser OS's! Bwahaha.

What are you doing in Firefox? I find IE to be slightly pokey, but I switched to avoid all the security holes. Athlon 700, 384MB.

I use firefox and I don't really notice a speed difference, but there are convenience features and security features that make it worth the switch.

I just switched to firefox as well. I found that it loads up slower when you first open it, but after that it's as fast or faster than IE for me.

...I like firefox alot better, some of the features are really cool

Seriously though, it should run faster. It's fast for me and I'm using it right now.

Status bar has 11 icons, and that should have nothing to do with page load speeds.

But I'll reboot anyway.

Go to tools -> options -> privacy

What is the number there for cache?

Also are you low on disk space?

IE already has it's 100M of space to work with. If FF can't get that much it'll take a while to load stuffs.....

Did restarting your box help out at all with the load times? I'd think once cached the pages should load the same as with ie

Firefox is awesome. Love the tab feature. It loads a page faster than IE. Don't know why yours is running slow though.

OK we've established that firefox owns, how about we help the guy with his problem.
