My family and I are looking to move to northern Georgia by the fall of '08. I was curious how many members are down there. I was also wanted to ask if anyone could help out by sending me a few newspapers or something. We wanted to look for jobs and a house before we come down, and we want more then just the web to make our decisions. So if anyone could help that would be great. I had posted this in the General Discussion section awhile back and had no responses, I figured putting it in the area we want to go might help. Thanks before hand to anyone that can help out. We were thinking in the hills north of Atlanta, we just do not want to be in the city, so like an hour out of Atlanta or more is cool.

I'm not sure if I could send you any newspapers an hour north of atlanta because I don't make it up there that much, but if I do I'll make sure I grab some. But you also have to be a little more specific about which city you and your family would like to move to. An hour north of Atlanta could be a lot of places. My mom lives in Dacula, GA which is about 45 - 60 minutes away from downtown atlanta. Place is really quiet and a lot of new subdivisions have been built in that area. Also, if you're looking for a more upscale and more busy area, I would look in to alpharetta, roswell, or duluth/gwinnett.

Lawrenceville is also a nice little town to live in. Look in to loganville also.Reply back after you research some of these cities and I can maybe get you a newspaper so you can check out the classifieds. good luck to you.

Hey Dragon,Atlanta and what everyone thinks is Atlanta are two different things. Most consider outside Atlanta to mean outside the Loop (I-285), but you may want to look at the job market first before settling on an area to live. An hour north of the loop would be near Cumming GA. If you like to work with chicken, Tyson has a big plant up there. When you get that far out you tend to narrow your choices. I saw that you're a Tattoo artist part time. If you plan on pursuing that as a side business, I would stick to either the I-75 or I-85 corroidor. Also consider .. an hour outside of ATL could mean 60 miles or if you are talking drive time, well then your only talking 10-15 miles from the loop. Traffic is a bear (one of the main reasons we left). The Atlanta Journal and Constitution has good information. When I first moved to Atlanta (years ago), I rented an apartment for 6 months and then drove around every weekend to figure out where I wanted to live.

Hope this helps you some.
