Well ive been looking into wheels and i dont know which brands are worth getting. I do want a wheel that is lighter than stock though, so i will most likely be going with forged. I would be cool with a nice set of 17s, maybe even 15's if they look that good. I am looking for a huge, well decent size lip, but this is where it gets confusing. There are wheels with, say a +48 offset, yet they have a 3" lip. Then there's - offset wheels. Are the positive offset wheels with a lip just wider than wheels with simply neg offset? Price doesnt matter too much since i will only be geting two. Dont really want fake knock of wheels like Rotas, etc... Yes, i am one of those guys.

So what am i looking for; Bronze/gold wheels with a big lip/ neg offsetLighter than stock

Heres some i was interested in

http://iforged.com/us/wheels_detail.php?WhID=66(idk how pricey these wheels can really get)

http://eastcoasttires.com/whee...inish/(The name makes it seem a bit corny, lip isn't as big as i want it but still looks good)

http://www.axiswheels.com/wheels.php?id=og-san <---MAtte Gold w/ lip(Yeah theyre 15s but w/ a nice drop the car would still look good)

So thats a little list i came up with. I am really trying to compare weight and price, if i could get any of these numbers or even a ballpark figure would be nice. Thanks

I already know about offsets, alignment..basically anything basic on a wheel but specs that i have seen seem somewhat contradicting..

Yeah thats what i thought.

Sry i have an s13 body. I dont really know if i want to go 18" because of the weight factor. Plus i am looking for that nice lip or deep offset, however you look at it.

What wheels do you have? Sry but they do kinda look like the drifz..lol

my wheels are rota D2's

the difference between 17's and 18's shouldnt be too much

to anwser one of you first questions, front wheel drive vehicles typically have narrower wheels and HIGHER offsets, than RWD

normally, if you have a wider, lower offset wheel, you will have a much larger lip than a fwd width offset wheel, so a 17(or 18) inch tall, 9.5 inch wide wheel with a +15 offset, meaning the hub contact point is 15mm outside(think toward the fender) the centerline of the wheel so the hub contact point is roughly 4 1/4 inches from the lip of the wheel, so based on spoke design and barrell design you may have up to a 4 inch lip

that size should fit you s13 with a little fender modification, roll and a possible light pull

hope this helped a lil and sorry if you already knew how offset worked(im used to explaining principles of operation and theory to sailors)

iForged : Ridiculously expensive. At least $2k per set, probably approaching $4k for ones with decent sizing. They're just not that hot either.

Drifz: Bad. Just bad.

Axis: Ok, but too expensive for what it is.

Work: Again, crazy expensive. But totally worth it.

The Axis and Drifz wheels are pretty much knockoffs too.

I personally don't see a problem with knockoffs. People with the cash will buy the real thing, people without the cash will buy the knockoffs. The knockoffs give more popularity to the real thing. Everyone wins. It's not like the knockoffs are gonna take much profit from the real thing.

Wow, so i have expensive taste lol. I did think the iforged would be exspensive. Avdans are also alot so i dont think i want to get those.

Idk i personally think knock-offs give a bad name to the whole "import scene" some brands gave the orignal manufacturers a reason to mot sell to US, but anyway, i guess as long as it looks good what does it matter?

I am looking for a light wheel though, which is why i dont really want to go higher than 17s.

Maybe Volk?

I will only be buying to so..

Hehe, Volk's are also crazy expensive. But very worth it.

Also keep in mind, 17's may be lighter wheels, but they go with heavier tires, whereas the heavier 18's have lighter tires, so it all mostly cancels out.

True. I think metal would outweigh rubber though.

I checked out the MB wheels they lok good but they seem to be more geared twoards FWD with the bigger offset.
