I've enjoyed my 07 M35 but it's time to move on. I'm currently locating and pricing several Q70Ls. The first gen had two pretty common issues, driver's seat track failure and dash cracking. Are those still a problem with the Q70? Also, how would you rate the Deluxe Touring package versus the Premium package? Someone posted here that there's a difference in seat bolstering and material(leather vs leatherette)? I just want to verify before I narrow down my search.

I have no knowledge of Q70 but by 2013 m37x does not have the front seat rail issue or dash cracking
from the Hawaiian guy issues I'd make sure the seats are similar to what you want

I've owned a 2017 Q70 base RWD model with Premium package (Nav,etc) for a month. I would strongly recommend test driving the vehicle model with options you plan on buying. I bought mine sight unseen based on owning 4 previous Infiniti's including M37, and expecting same level of luxury feel and comfort. Very disappointed. Deluxe touring option is far superior with better seats and other features I don't have. The base and Premium model seats are junk. Technology package will have many features that are regularly available on other brands. Sadly, the current generation Q70's are very outdated technologically (the voice commands/phone/bluetooth, screen, stereo, etc) are inferior to several much cheaper and better appointed cars I've rented or been in recently. The one good thing is the ride is excellent and quiet, and the usual Infiniti great reliability continues. I have owned J30, G35 coupe, M37 w Premium package (replaced with Q70), and my wife has G37 Convertible with 22,000 miles (garaged and has melting dashboard), so easy to compare all the vehicles, particularly seats and interior, and electronics. While I love Infiniti and likely will continue to buy them, for the first time I can say that quality control, comfort and other features are being equaled or surpassed by many other brands. Revamping of current models and re-institution of the old great quality standards from the earlier M series is necessary.

After thinking about it further, if I were you, I would save 10's thousands and pick up a low mileage loaded 2013 M37. My old 2011 with 46,000 miles drove just as smoothly as the 2017 Q70. Even though similar 10 speaker Bose stereos, the old sound was a hair better. Blue tooth/ phone commands 1 step improved with new one, but still antiquated. No comparison on seats, old far superior, full leather, and comfortable with the Premium package. Except for the Q70 being slightly quieter, essentially no improvement, and in some cases, not as nice. I would wait for the next generation. JMHO.

I'm pretty set on getting a Q70 with the Deluxe Touring package for now. I prefer something newer than 2015 if possible. Although I'm not against getting something relatively cheap until the redesign so an M37 isn't out of the question.

Cargurus is a great site. Can set up used car searches, and get email updates. Or just check regularly. There are often M37s with under 30,000 miles, in the $20k range or less. Deluxe touring Qs are not real common, I think there aren’t lots of them, and people stick with them (vs the base models, which are all over the used car sites and auctions- Mostly from rental companies).

I'm now an owner of a 2018 white/graphite Q70L. It has all of the options except for a V-8. Coming from an '07 M35, I'm genuinely impressed with the tech and ride quality improvements. Drove it 150 miles on the trip home and got +27mpg which is better than my M which would do ~24 if I babied it during road trips. My only gripes weren't with the car itself, but with the missing SD navigation map(ordered online) and spare key(will order online). That's the price of not getting it from an Infiniti dealer but the price was too good to pass up. Overall, I'm happy.
