Well after so much work put into the CA18DET ,not as much compared to others its time to move on out the scene. I'm giving up on it for sure, this morning the smell of burning oil and smoke out the exhaust was a tap on the shoulder, damn and I just put this t28 on not too long ago, stock boost and 10w40synthetic. Even the sr t25 that I bought used lasted longer. I'll miss it but gotta do what ya gotta do. A new car and going back to school. Don't know what I might get yet, but it will be N/A With AC,etc.

aaw, come on. you cant give up! look at me! im in college and everything as well, my car hates the concept of running and im out of money but i still keep putting stuff on it. tell you what, if you need a turbo ill let my rebuilt ca slug go for nothing. dont give in! mechanical problems are half the fun!

and it seems like you might have turbo oiling problems if youre going through turbos so fast. do bb turbos go the same way a normal turbo does? im still not entirely sure how they work..

and if you do decide to get out of the scene, make sure you get a car with some real go or youll always be disappointed. i know i am whenever i drive a car other than mine.

ya, I just got my 3rd ticket today (by an undercover Camaro, no less) my KA is running like s***, I've got 2 feet of my frame rails completely crushed on one side, and the threat of winter and me wanting a 4WD is pushing me to hurry up and get my business going so I can get a 4WD. Not to mention the fact that I get laid off froma job making $14.51 now I'm down to $9.00 on a graveyard shift.

sucks a**.

Im doing the same. Im getting rid of my 240 for a 99 Eclipse GST. Ice cold AC, leather seats, power everything and killer looks. Plus its automatic so i dont really have to worry about crankwalk and I get to chill during traffic down OBT or I4. It wont be left too stock though

Im getting a 16G and some bolt ons to take care of you know who.

make sure it doesnt have abs! then you can left-foot brake the hell out of it and do pendulum turns and all kinds of great fun stuff! abs is the devil.

oh, and i still dont condone your behavior. leaving the CA scene is a crime punishable by death here in alabama.

Well I'd like to get a Sedan yet something with some power, looked at a couple WRXs ,but its boosted and I would be tempted to mod it, or a 99+ GT Mustang, even looked at a new SER. So hard, don't even say SRT4, not my style.

Sad thing is I'll have to let go of my s13 for cheap.

Will, id just get a WRX and leave it alone. You can get the first and second year models cheap. Even with the SER and Mustang, you would be tempted to mod it.

Im just getting a few bolt ons for my DSM and then im done. No built motor or cams, just a FMIC, downpipe, exhaust, test pipe, intake, 16G, suspension and shift kit. Everything else will be stock, stock wheels, stock body.

I already have a AFC2 and a datalogger ready to go in

Posts like this make me not even want to start a turbo "project". I started out saying I was just gonna do i/h/e and save for a WRX, and ended up (currently) saving for a ca18/sr20. I know I wont be able to afford a wrx for a looong time, and I might wind up choosing something else by then.

I still dont know what to do, guess I'll just save and decide from there. My ka24e has about 153 (compression test) on all 4 cylinders.

damn good price, I'm gonna let mine go for 3500 when I get rid of it, and I've still got the KA, but I live in Seattle, I can't afford to sell it for less,

I love it up here, but the cost of **** kills me.

you gettin' the WRX? I'm gonna be switchin' over to a GC8 2.5RS in a few months.
