Sounds like a good idea to me!

The harnesses should have some anchor points on the inside structure of the dash, just pop out one of those anchors and pull down the harness for the ac controls.

The radio controls should be easy, they have alot of slack.

In an s14 huh? Sorry but I have no idea. Id imagine that it wouldnt be too bad. Only 1 or 2 actuall stiff wires(controll of heat and velocity of air). In my s13, i would just pop off that dash piece and have a look.

Good luck

I've done it, no pics as of yet. The cd tray is a smaller than the environmental controls so you will have to make the opening larger. I know I modified something else too, but I forgot what. I think i have the controls held in place by the radio frames. I have to modify the centre console tonite to fit the SAFC so I will make a proper write up tomorrow.

Once installed though everything is nice and snug.

Bottom line: 1/2 hour evening project

ok here it is... i had to cut one of the stock zip ties holding the fan controls wiring harness to the inside of the dash to get enough slack to reach its new spot, and i used a razor blade to widdle at the trim piece until it fit...

now the only problem is that my a/c control doesnt light up anymore( well it hasnt since i bought the car) so i need a new one....

Go to Nissan dealer and ask for the bulbs to the climate control. You can only get them at nissan as far as I know. It is like $18 or so for three bulbs.
