I don't know about charleston, but SC as a whole, the saying goes you can drive a dumpster full of burning tires in this state and still wouldn't get pulled over. I drove my old B13 SE-R open header daily driven for over a year. Emissions and inspections are non-existant, and as long as your car isn't ridiculously flashy, or drive like an incredible douche, I doubt you'd have any problems with the police.

NC/SC are rather good about the mods thing. they don't seam to mind much at all. i think the only place that i can think of are the family oriented beaches.

Hmmm where to start. It depends where in Charleston you are moving to. North Charleston has some rough crime. The Po Po have some hard-ons for tuners. If you stay low key, they usually leave you alone. If you drive around like an idiot, you get what you deserve. Lots of guys meet up at the K-mart on Rivers Ave in North Charleston. Charleston is funny when it comes to crime. You can travel two blocks from some really nice part of town and be in CRAPVILLE. So it really depends on where. If you let me know an area of Charleston, I might be able to point out the rougher areas to ya.. Oh yea, Like the girl in the sig.. been using her for about 2 years.Good luck with your move.

I forgot to mention the drifting scene. Closest track that has drifting is Myrtle Beach (about 1 1/2 hours from us). I'm sure there is some street drifting, but my free time is usually with my family or wrenchin on the car. I do know a few people who might be able to give you insight to the scene.

Summerville is nice.. it's where we live... The PD...not so much.. They can be real ball busters. There are some sketchy areas. Good hook up is The Show Zone http://theshowzone.com/index2.phpfor tuning, aftermarket needs..etc. There are a few good salvage yards around. Let me know when you get into town and I'll point you in the right direction. We have a few U-pull it yards in town too. Summerville is a much better place to live though (over Charleston) and we usually don't have to evacuate for hurricanes. We're close enough to most everything. The Hooters in North Charleston has car shows once a month during summer. There is a local chapter for SCCA autocrosses. They have a few weekend events over the summer. The beach is about 45 mins (non tourist season) to the wash out (popular surfing/hang out area). Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help ya out.

Not sure how much help I'll be with your age group. Most of the young'uns I've dealt with in the scene are pretty cool. If you can stay away from the Meth heads you'll do ok. It's almost funny with them. They think no one knows they're Meth heads, but it's easy to spot them. The cop know who they are too, so if you see a Meth head geekin - you can bet the cops are watchin. Just some old fart advice. The night life down town is pretty good. Plenty of hotties at the college bars. The beaches in the summer are always a good sight for sore eyes too. Summerville is very mellow for the most part. You can hear the tuners out on Friday and Sat night doing their street drags. The scene is still growing here, so that's a good thing. Good luck on your move. Let me know if you need any other info.

honestly most the people down here arent on MEth so i feel have no idea what or how they look...now if they were on coke then i can point them out like no other...lol...but thanks for the advice...im more leaning on the side of people that like to chill and hang out talk about cars bike chicks and drink a few beers....go to hang outs and what not but not getting into any trouble and possibly going to some tracks and doing some drifting and practicing....thats about it... so if anyone wants to hang out with an outta towner thats not looking for trouble...just have some good times....then hit me up.p.s. no gay guys...nothing against you...i just love the women...
