rudy?

seems a weird choice...

I don't think I've cried over a movie, but man, the end of Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan kick ***.

I still dont get wtf Forrest Gump was about.

Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan were great tear jerkers. I also liked the recent "13 Going On 30" (shut up!)

Gladiator was real sad

As well House of Sand and Fog was probably the saddest movie I've ever seen.

I'm sure there are more that make me sad but a personal favorite with some throat lump-inducing parts is Life as a House. Kevin Kline is the man. And alot of those documentaries on Vietnam where they read some of the literally boys' letters home and their responses, often followed by captions along the lines of "PFC Jones died 4 days later." Sad sh1t. =\

I'm sure I'll think of more when I'm more concious, but the big ones were gladiator, the last matrix (trinity was practically my second girlfriend...she just didn't know it), any movie where someone looses a wife/girlfriend/family usually gets me sad too, I HATE sad movies :(

oh, I forgo about saving private ryan. That one definitely was a tear jerker.

I've never watched braveheart from beginning to end so I dont quite get it, but it seems like it was made so that men could cry openly. I know people who have watched it over 50 times.

Also, no one mentioned the passion of the christ. I have not seen it, but I heard it was a mega tear jerker.

25th Hour did it for me. Forest Gump was bad too. I remember watching that in the theater with my girlfriend of the time who happened to be named Jenny. Ended up we both sat crying at the end.. that movie hit a little too close to home in some respects.

What about Shawshank Redemption or Green Mile, both of those are pretty damn sad.

I tell you what, once I see a movie that takes me to that kinda place, I almost never see it again. I think it's because either I don't like feeling that way, or I don't want to weaken the power of the original feelings it gave me.. wow, deep stuff.

^ Agreed.

I forgot to mention Armageddon (the scene where Bruce Willis is sat-linked to his daughter before he blows up the asteroid).

Also forgot Black Hawk Down. I was in Yuma on business, bored as hell. Went to a local podunk theater, got there early and settled in. Lots of people came in after me in the dark, and during the movie (which was gripping and very heart-wrenching) I heard several sobs and sniffles. At the end of the movie, I looked around and there were probably 40 uniformed military personnel from the local base watching the movie with me... Lots of handshakes on the way out of the theater - didn't need to say "Thanks", it was understood.
