I have drifted with stock suspension without to big of a problem Tein basic will be fine for drifting but I would personaly go with the Megan racing coilovers they are about $800 a set and from what most people say much better then the Tein basics..

All you really need unless your doing some serious drifting is a set of Tonkio blues and some Tein H-techs

ive had my basics for about 4 years now and been drifting with them since. i got a really good deal on them at the time and theyve actually held up really well. ive been to just about every event at raceway park with them and my car is my daily driver so if nothing else theyre awfully tough cuz ive hit some really hard potholes/bumps and also a few curbs and they still feel as nice as when i got em. i do plan on switching them out soon for something thats more adjustable, but ive definitely gotten alot better since i first started so i think its time for a step up. but like i said i got a great deal on em so i dont regret getting them at all.

stiffer struts and springs the combo runs about $370 about half the price of coilovers... I personally would go with the coilovers, but he might not be doing the more advanced drifting i'm moving into. depends on how much you need there will always be a "better" more expensive part.

You are not moving into advanced drifting. Stop acting like such a badass just because you can hold long slides. You have been to what, 2 events?

Stop being so full of yourself, flailmaster.

theyre tokico blues not tonkio, theyre the shocks. and the h-techs are springs, but theyre gay, dont waste your money on them. s-techs are better or rsr springs.

I gotta go with naed on this I mean your good man but held back by your car? advance drifting?

That said I would look into the budget coilovers....have yet to hear much bad about the megan, and others like it...If memory servers me right the basics lack adjustability? no dampener adjustment or no ride hight or something?

If they dont have dampener adjustments Id definatly hold out for something a little better, its nice to be able to adjust how your car drives.
