california is ok if you have a descent job. it get expensive. about the cops, it depends on how your car is set up. if you have a low profile ride and dont drive crazy, you're good. its up to you, try living out here for a couple of months and see how it is, summer is coming, its not that bad.

California is one of the greatest places to live in the world.

Cons:

- Higher cost of living (more expensive rent, home prices, gas is higher, etc)- High level of crime in urban areas (but this is the same no matter where you go)- Strict motor vehicle laws- Expensive health/life/medical insurance- High level of illegal immigrants (hey, they might be good people, but they're still illegal)

Pros:

- You can go from Northern California to Southern California in about 5 hours- There are tons of different cultures, climates, locales, foods, entertainment- There are jobs everywhere, depending on what you're willing to do- There are plenty of small towns that are close to big cities, if you prefer to not live in the big urban areas- California is home to the largest 240sx community in the world- There are more drifting/import carshow/tuner events in California than any other state in the U.S.- There are hot women all over the state (Los Angeles is the model/actress capital of the world, lol)- You can live close to or on the beach- The weather stays around 60-70 degrees all year round in many places

And the list goes on.

I've lived in over fifty cities in the world, and I've been to tons more places, including Hawaii, Canada, Italy and Mexico, and there is no place quite like California. I love this place more than any place I've ever lived or been to.

don't forget traffic during rush hour. ugh... seriously, I would rather wait at work a couple hours than to sit in traffic a couple hours... esp LA traffic, yes, its that bad. Highways are over crowded. I recommend getting a motorcycle, lol.

Oh snap...yeah, that's a HUGE con that I forgot.

Traffic is HORRENDOUS in the LA basin and not a lot better in the Bay Area. If you don't mind sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for long periods of time on the freeways, then you won't mind Cali traffic, lol. The state does have several tax-funded widening/repair programs in progress, but it's too little, too late, in my opinion.

SR's are illegal everywhere in the US, its just much much harder to get caught. Unless you go to ALOT of work producing, testing, and then getting the engine passed by a smog official it will always be a non DOT approved engine that is illegal to use on open roads.

Mainly its the smog tests screw over your chances of easily having an SR here....Most places require a visual inspection as well, so the smog tech has to inspect that everything is hooked up and what it should be under the hood. There are a couple places in Cali that don't have this visual inspection. I know humbolt county is one, and I believe their is at least one other.
