hey, hi to all. my name is Ivan, im a 20year old dude that lives in nor Cal(Mountain man).i been going to a community college and working full time (cook at a local restaurant) since i graduated high school. i bought my s14 as a shell right after graduation and been piecing it together slowly. i wish i had pictures of the car before i bought it to show some comparison. not much as progressed as im a little under budget. so basic run done is i purchased the car as a shell with no transmission for 2ks'(woot woot) i bough an s13 transmission and had a friend swap guts into the s14tranny that was in the trunk of my car. its a 95 se with leather, sunroof, vlsd,"all goodies" 194k miles, the bad of the interior is that the driver seat feels like ur sitting on a piece of wood(fat owner before me squished the cushion flat) all other things seemed to be good when i first started it up. to current ive bought gotten a cat-back,refreshed plugs/seals under the hood(used to smell like burnt oil anywhere around the car) and put on a jdm kouki bumper. i ran into some oem aero when i bought a salvage title zenki with a complete kouki conversion for 1500. i pulled the whole kouki conversion and threw it on my SE right after i sold the salvage title with a zenki front for 2300(so i made 800 and got a kouki conversion with zenki skirts and valances!)i spent that money and the only thing i bought for my car was a z32 calipers,ss breaklines, z32 BMC and kouki 180 steering wheel. **so that being said i recently decided my sun burnt-black paint wasn't cutting it any more so i stripped the car and begain sanding today.

on to the pictures so far.found a swimming pool in the trunk!after doing some sanding i found out that someone sprayed paint straight on a red hood without even taking out the clear so shinnyand thats where i stopped at about 10pm today. i wont say much about the color scheme im going to paint because ill prolly get crap for it but its cool.(its my car, its what i like) but also this is going to be my first paint job ever but ive been doing lots of reading for months on painting cars and i have been talking to local body shops about techniques, so i have a fairly good idea of what needs to be done. so what do you guys think?

so i went to move my car into the sun to wash it (cuz sanding gets dirty you know) and i noticed that the kouki 180 steering wheel makes clicking sounds when i turn the steering wheel left or right, not so much a problem but prolly will get annoying...ill have to look into it later.

ummm probably not the best idea... the clock spring is a ribbon (like a computer ribbon in a lap top) and if you damage it there is a possibility that your air bag could go off, or not work (depending on if you hooked it up).

there is a thread on here that you might want to check out. here ya go

zerothread?id=340620

just dont want those wires touching each other in the clock spring....

Nice car dude love the new bumper can't wait to see the car painted. It looks like you did a good job on the door jams

no major plans just lowering springs(untill next summer) a set of either P45r's or Grids.. and some new seats...i plan on riding the motor till she blows then going to an s13 SR.

interior is not hard to remove at all...just be careful with some of those clips because the break very easily

i just cut the steering wheel to a big enough hole to fit the cruise control(cut a bit too big) then glued it with gorilla glue...its only temp untill i find a way too mount with brackets....and i think i need to buy a maxima clock spring because i broke my 240 clock spring and now it makes clicking sounds when i turn the steering wheel...

This paint job is either going to turn out really good or really bad not sure. I'm hoping that it doesn't look ricer when you're done with it. That peel and seal stuff is pretty good for the price. I used the same stuff and did my car with 3 rolls barely. Did the doors and the trunk next I'm going to rip up the carpet and go to town under there maybe idk. The door jams look go though.

looking good. I don't really like that peel and seal. Its too thin. Try edead, you can pay $1 per square foot. I think I'm going to try it soon

ive been hoping that same thing! but so far its too my liking, moo pics to come tomarrow. as for the peelinseal, there is tones of factory sound deading to kill under the carpet(just a heads up)
