Getting the pieces on and off the grill isn't hard. Thankfully the vinyl comes larger than you actually need. The hard part was wrapping it over the curves and stretching it so it doesn't wrinkle. You don't have to cut the excess off either, it'll fold over to the back and then be hidden once you put the pieces back on the grill. It's def worth trying on your own, but i'd get more than one set just incase you mess up on the first try, or just incase one of them gets messed up down the road.dflane39 wrote:Thanks boystar22, looks good. That's kind of what I'm leaning toward....I'm guessing the install is as hard as the overlays for my tail lights, which wasn't easy, but totally worth it. What was the biggest pain, taking the inserts out or putting the overlay on and then putting the inserts back in?
cmod painted black on edges and white in mesh would look awsomedflane39 wrote:Hey everyone, please put in your two cents! I want to change up my front grille but I'm not sold on the C-mod grille that alot of folks are getting. I'm considering the moustache overlays that I think are only sold by Bluebatmobile.....please correct me if I'm wrong. So the question is, how easy are the overlays? Anyone have a diiferent grille suggestion other than C-mod?
I ordered mine from BlueBatmobile. The best way to contact him is through his website. Just google the name and you'll get his photobucket site with his contact info. Just email him with what you want and in what color and he'll send you a paypal invoice.Coupeguy23 wrote:hey boystar where did you order them from ?
Is that a blue coupe in the background parked on the street?boystar22 wrote:I have the vinyl mustache overlays from bluebat, and they are a pain in the butt to install; but they transform the entire look of the front end. I've never had a problem with the honeycomb grill, I've always just hated the out of place chrome pieces.
My car is dark slate, and the vinyl he sent matches 99.99999%. The overlays are $15 per set (if i recall correctly) and I bought two sets, and used both of them trying to install. So if you're attempting to do it yourself you might want to pick up several sets just in case. I've had them on the car for over a year now and they still look great and the color still matches perfectly.
If you want any more pictures just let me know and i'll take some for you.
Yea our neighbor's friend drives it. I've never talked to him before, or even the neighbors for that matter. They don't seem very friendly so I haven't gone out of my way to say anything.dflane39 wrote:

If you have a pic, I'd like to see.......you took the inserts off but left the grille?Rmuth25 wrote:I just took the moustache off and havent put it back on. No one really notices it. I orginally painted it myself but didnt sand/prep it well, so the paint after a while chipped. I had intentions to sand it down and repaint it the right wa;y but you can really only tell there is something missing from the front if you are right up close to the car.

Yea they're still holding up just fine. I may not be the best statistical sample since at three years old my car only has 23k miles and stays in the garage almost all of the time though.Coupeguy23 wrote:Hey boystar are those overlay still holing up ?

Sorry for the late reply, I never got a notification.
It's good quality vinyl, and at the price if it lasts 5-7 years then you'll have gotten your monies worth.Coupeguy23 wrote:its cool man thanks for the relay . Did you ever take the pics?mattyfo0z wrote:Thought I'd update this thread.. I decided to Plastidip my front emblem + mustache pieces, just because I really disliked the chrome. I'll grab some pics tomorrow for sure, it's already dark out. Looks good, though.. and they came off pretty easily.
