hi...My RB26 is about to arrive from japan..

now the only things missing are the mounts, driveshaft, and RB25 oilpan..

i've heard that Mckinney's are the best...

my question is, what is the difference between the other workshops mounts, and mckinney's ones... (XAT RACING, etc...)same with the shaft..

and if anyone have the things above to sell, i would like to hear an offer..

thanks,Tom...

Ummm, are you missing the actual mounts ON the motor itself, or did you mean that you are missing a "mount kit" to use on your 240? If you are missing the actual mounts from the engine, you are gonna need to purchase a set. If you are needing a mount kit, then you are set on that.

In regards to your question. The differences, other than the steeper price, is the QUALITY of the product and how the company stands behind their products. The McKinney mounts are steep in price, but so far, they are the superior mass-produced mounts. A company or two in the past few months are starting to make them, but until they are widely used, McKinney has the market here. And, as it has happened in the past, if they fail or if you have a problem with them, they will replace them.

Shaft wise, McKinney is the only one to make a driveshaft with the use of their mounts. Unfortunately, if you use the McKinney mounts, your only options are to either have a custom driveshaft shop make you a driveshaft, or just spend a little more and get the McKinney driveshaft. Personally, I bought the RB26 mounts, the RB26 wiring service, AND the RB26 driveshaft ALL from McKinney to use in my S14.

Quote »superior[/quote] uhh...i hate to knock on their products but their (mckinney's) mounts had fail multiple times, as in motor callaped due to the urethane spacer busted in half. they did recall on the piece, i think that problem is resolved. but as far as the best? i'm sure neither are 100% bullet-proof. i don't know what you comparred that to? use your judgement and choose which ever is functional and fit your purpose/wallet. mounts from both vendors will work fine...

as far as the drive shaft goes...require a custom one done..there are thousand of shops out there that can make drive shafts. or use mckinneys' as they are already supporting this type of swap.

you need to call them directly, to find out more detail

You should have done your research and made a decision before you purchased this clip.

I'm sick of seeing people going in blindfolded without looking at all angles beforehand.

Mckinney has the best mount kit and driveshaft hands down.

Still.. always be prepared for failure with any aftermarket part. Mckinney doesn't have any more issues (that I'm aware of) with their kits.

I have done my research before i've purchased the engine.

instead of getting pissed on me, you should (i think) try and help.i'm a moderator of the largest "racers" community forum in israel...i know how annoying is to deal with people without any knowlage...but i never spit on their faces, and i allways help... you should to.

all i was asking is if there is such a big difference that justiffy their price.

i have no driveshafts shops near, cause i'm from israel (we dont have those sort of things here )

if it wouldn't cost so much, i would have send the car to mckinney and got them to do the swap, but only the shipping of th vehicle will cost 4K$...i have bought everything from the best brands, and the best condition...so if mckinney are the best, i'll buy their set...

about the oem mounts, i need them even though i use the mckinney mount kit?

I didn't get pissed at you.

You don't need your stock mounts.
