Anyone know the mounting depth on the front door speakers? Im looking to put in CDT m6 mid drivers in the doors. Mounting dept on them is 2 3/4" just want to make sure they fit before I drop 350 bucks on them. I would think since the bose speakers are pretty big that there should be enough room Thanks

I installed some JBL GTO components in mine, these are the advertised mounting depths:

2-1/16" (53cm) Mid-Woofer, 1" (25mm) Tweeter The component fits and still has some room.... the tweeter I had to bulge out the OEM tweeter grills to get them stuffed in the OEM location.... As far as the speaker, yours are still over a half inch deeper..... you might be cutting it close, but i think it should fit... I hope somebody here has a definite answer for you.... as I really dont know

maybe i'll have to bite the bullet and pull a door panel, I just wanna do stuff once. im pretty sure they come with a spacer anyway but then I have to worry about hiting the door panel with them. Let me know if anyone else has any info. Thanks

I just found your answer, while browsing a car stereo site: Check the speaker dimensions for ANY vehicle: http://www.mobiletoys.com/part....aspx

DUDE you're S.O.L..... Quote »2001 Pathfinder: * Size: 6 1/2" * Depth: 2.25"

Rear Speakers

* Size: 6 1/2" * Depth: 2 1/4"[/quote] Yet my 99 QX4 has 3" depth front and back???? I thought they would have been the same! YES!!!!

don't worry about it. there is a plastic cover that hold the speaker. what i did was cut off the back.

the pathfinder and qx4 are very similar. i not so sure how come they have different dept. maybe it is the enclosure for the speaker.

That site says the mounting depth for my speakers is 2 1/4" as well. I installed Alpine Type R's all the way around. They have a 2 1/2" top mount depth and they fit fine.

Well I wont have the speakers in time to install this weekend but I think im going to pre wire everything to get it done. If 2.5 will fit then i'll make the 2.75 fit lol even at 2.25 i should be able to make up for it with a half inch spacer with out the speakers hiting the door panel. I havent looked at the door itself at all yet but I think they should be ok if I cut out the plastic speaker "cage" behind them. I'll check that out over the weekend and maybe take my own measurements for future reference. Thanks for the help so far
