Well, I'm having to mount my battery in the trunk due to my aftermarket intake and have a few guestions. First, does anyone know if someplace like Auto Zone or Advance will have a battey box that I can use? Second and probably most importantly can I ground the battery to the frame in my trunk? I'm worried there might be a little sparking and the sparks might ignite the trunk carpet. Yes I know I'm being paranoid, but with my baby, can't be too careful. And lastly what all do I need to hook the positive cable to? I'm gonna go pick up eight or nine feet of some good 4gauge wire to run from the battery to the engine comaprtment, then to a distribution block to everywhere I need to hook it up to. I just dont know what all the positive wire hooks up to. TIARyan

You should NEVER mount your trunk in your battery, that would include opening up a battery (acid man!!!!) and putting an extremely compressed chunk o' metal and carpet inside, that just cant be good. In seriousness though, a good ground should pose no problem :) Just find a nice clean spot of bare metal that is connected to the rest of the car to ground it too.

Haha, dualy noted and edited. You would think the obscenely large amounts of caffiene in my system would prevent me from making such mistakes, but o well life goes on. Just shows we can't be perfect at everything. If anyone has any advise on teh positive (battery wise) side of things, I would be much abliged if you could share.Ryan

Relocating a battery for an intake = not worth it IMHO

Aggreed, but keep in mind, when routing intercooler piping, it's alot eaiser when the battery is not in the way. Plus the engine bay looks alot cleaner. And most importantly, I want to, so not to be a ****, but I'm sure you know where your opinion ranks on my Give-A-$****-AMeter.Ryan

Find a marine battery box, the kind that they use to on boats. Sears used to carry them. Any boating supply store should be able to hook you up. It will be fully sealed.

Hey man, I was just in Rice Boys....er, hmm, Pep Boys the other day, and they have plastic battery boxes for like $12.00. I have been considering the relocation as well, and that is the best price for a box that I have seen in a long time. I should mention that the box even has a top to it so that you can put stickers or "Do Not Touch" warnings on it.
