I just put the downpayment on a 97 240 and im flying in saturday to pick it up and drive it home. I have a couple questions about swapping the parts from my old s13 to my new s14 and i figured i would just start a new build thread.

I have tein coilovers, 300zx brakes, s15 diff and full enegry suspension bushing kit on my s13. So my question is will the s13 5 lug conversion hubs, brake lines, coilovers, suspension arms, and complete rear subframe assembly bolt into the s14 without any issues. I would like to know if i have to buy anything for the swap before i tear apart two cars. The s14 is allready a 5 lug but the hub/bearings on my s13 is have about 1000 miles on them.

Here are some pics the owner sent and ill post more when i get the car.

I allready have black motegi touge with polished lips from my old car to put on it. As far as the transmission the engine wont be in the car for long.

The owner claims it drive excellent, no leaks or issues. The car has 180,000 miles but its all highway miles because he uses the car to drive 60 miles to work everydayIts going to be about a 6 hour drive i just dont feel like driving it both ways and towing a trailer through chicago.

Come on guys this is a build thread with some questions at the top.

Just so nobody says it needs this or that here is the donor car and maybe engine. Nothing special but should look good on the new car.

I say build two cars also. The s13 is rather clean and well powered, so, I say daily the s14, get some wheels for it, suspension, and swap to 5 speed. Then either rebuild the KA or get a low mileage KA and KA-T.

i believe the front coilovers might swap over, but definitely not the rear.s15 diff will swap over.i wouldn't swap the bushings. from what i hear, it's a pita job and you'd essentially be doing it twice, plus idk if they would swap over.the z brakes, you would need r33 e-brake cables to make that function, then you would still have to source brakes for the s13 unless you planned on selling it without brakes.if you really want to swap hubs, i believe they'll swap over.i don't have an answer on the suspension arms or the sub frame, but i'd wager that most, if not all won't swap over, i could be wrong though.

My s13 has s14 5lug with s14 flca's. That might be the only thing I'm not sure will swap over besides the ruca's. The rear sub I'm not sure on. Definitely invest in the s14 and tune down the 20 year old car. Or swap fronts and do s13.4. I believe my s14 flcas added a little camber to my susp geometry

I have nothing against the RB20, but PLEASE DO NOT TEAR APART THAT S13, and stick an RB20 into a S14, especially a Kouki.

Atleast do a blacktop swap into the S14, or go all the way and do a RB25/26....

Just my .02

Why save the S13? They're a dime a dozen. Make the S14 nice.

I have a turbo audi a4 quattro for my daily. So i dont need another daily driver. The s13 will make a good project for someone just not me Ive had my fun with the car and it time for a new project. I have too many toys as it is.

As far as the engine goes. The rb20 will probably go in there for now because im starting school again, and ive spent way too much money it that last couple months. I built a turbo busa, im about to finish a stroked raptor, and now the new car so. If i do anything ill buy a cheap rb25 and swap the parts from my rb20 over to it.

The s13 will stay 5 lug becuase ill be taking the brakes and hubs off of the new car so we see what happens when i start making some more progess. I have a s15 front for the s13 so i might leave the rb20 in stock form and make another good daily out of it.

Thats my thought also.

Whatever i do im throwing the auto transmission in the trash asap. I dont think any car is fun if you cant throw some gears around.
