motorset or front clip

Ok I just talked to Ronald at Venus Auto today and the shipment he got in has no RB25 front clips. What they do have is 3 rb25det motorsets. The motorsets from what Ronald said has everything needed except the radiator which is no problem and also no SMIC. Now what Im wondering is should I go ahead and buy the motorset or wait until he has a front clip come in. To let you know a little about my car, it is a 1991 with abs,hicas,limited slip diff and is also a autotragic. I definately want to convert to 5spd. I'm leaning more to wait for the front clip just because it is more complete and good visual reference but I also want to start my swap asap.

Ronald also said that it is getting harder and harder to get a 5spd RB25DET front clip and easier to find a automatic RB25 front clip, but who wants a automatic.

Any input would be grateful.

i myself want an automatic trans so if i ever get a shiet load of hp i can drag race easier. also no losing boost with an automatic, the turbo doesn't have to re spool every gear change

Big you should talk to Venus Auto because they have a RB25 Automatic that they can't get rid of, and probably would sell it for cheap.

o yeah by the way was it a front clip or just a motor. i have alsways been told to get a front clip so you will have everything you need

It was a front clip from what I was told. The reason I found out about the Automatic front clip was because Venus offered to sell me the clip with a 5spd manual transmission. But I want a 5spd front clip so I didn't take up their offer but from last I heard that clip is still available.

You would have to call them because they pretty much never answer emails. Be persistent when you call them because their phone is weird. I must of called 15 times today and on my last try the phone rang for about 2 minutes and finally Ronald picked up.

Easiest why to decide if you need a front clip or not is.......

Are you using the stock crossmember or are you going to use custom mounts?

Stock crossmember>>>>>> Front clipCustom mounts>>>>>motor set

Reason..... Motor sets do not come with stock crossmebers.

But I do have 2 stock RB25 crossmebers at the shop, since we use custom mounts on our swaps.

I put a deposit down on a RB25 clip during mid June and when I spoke to Venus they said that there was 3 deposits on RB25 clips including me.

And Mack I was planning on getting custom mounts made considering we own a shop. So maybe the motorset would be fine, but I would hate to get a motorset and then something is missing and I have to wait even longer for that item to come in.
