I got two options for my rb25det:

Venus in Sacramento Im sure some of you know that some people have had trouble with them.

-

Or

Accutech in South San Francisco

Clips are the same price, but I can get a 600 dollar discount on a motorset from venus but it has no i/c piping,SMIC, radiator. I figure I can use the KA radiator and get a FMIC, but the problem is, Venus does not compression/leakdown test their motors. But Accutech will compression and leakdown infront of me.

I'm thinking its better if I got a sure thing going on ...yes?

Since Accutech is some what local to you why don't you go with them. If you have a problem you can drive your truck right into there window and say give me my money back.

VENUS told me specifically that they would NOT do the tests infront of me. If they did, I don't think i'd be having this dilema. A motorset is much easier to handle as far as garbage disposal, and 600 dollars less for a radiator and intercooler I don't need is a better deal.

I've had a buncha people tell me venus sometimes give u bad motors

ive had a couple from venus, i know friends who have got them from venus. if there is a problem they will take care of it.

honestly you sound like you have made up your mind, people are telling you what venus has done for them and you are arguing with them.

p.s. you can use a skyline radiator in a 240 anyway.

Yeah supposedly they "compression test" their motors. It's funny Ronald told me that he tested both of my motors, and both of them were blown. One with a scored cylinder and one with bad valvetrain at the least.

I purchased a long block to replace my 1st Venus-Auto blown motor and when it came i leakdown tested it and i heard all of the air coming out of the exhuast. This motor was specifically purchased to replace a blown motor, and he told me he would personally take care of this one.THANK YOU VENUS-AUTOSo i sent that motor back and HE didnt want to deal with this anymore since i was soo far away in NY.So he had to eat about $600 in shipping back and forth, from Cali to NY then right back to Cali.

DO NOT BUY A MOTOR THAT HAS NOT BEEN COMPRESSION TESTED & IF YOU CAN'T COMPRESSION TEST IT LEAKDOWN TEST IT.

Supposedly VENUS-AUTO compression tested the second motor with 175 across all cylinders, but that funny when all of the compression would be heading out the exhaust.

why did you even post this question when you are so adament about buying from so call accutech...

did you not count how many of us are happy with motors from venus! i ordered several motors from them too and happy with it. to be honest with you i have never heard of the "accutech"...probably someone just jumping on the importing wagon or a reseller of osakajmdmotors--which is common on ebay and other places now. it's local to you, so i don't see why not. YOU BETTER KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GETTING YOURSELF INTO. but hey, it's your money--don't let people spend it for you.

i hate seeing this type of question is being brought up so damn often. SEARCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I know theres plenty of both answers about venus from searching on the zilvia forum, the freshalloy forum, the 240sxforums, and on this forum. I wanted an opinion on this specific situation. I think people are way to anal about the search, everyone has to start somewhere. The majority of my posts are legit. If you're so mad about the search thing, don't even waste your time posting a response. And I have had excellent experiences with accutech, swapped actually a couple of motors. But i've had about 60 bad / 40 percent good from venus(feedback).

At this point minds well close the thread.
