I got a hold of LA Auto Guide recently and was looking at the Motorex ad for sr20 swaps. I just wanted to know if this is a good deal or not...

S13 Redtop - $2100 for Engine, transmission, Ecu, Harness, Ignitor, Mafs, Radiator, Sidemount I/C & Piping. $1600 for labor

S13 Blacktop - $2300 for Engine, transmission, Ecu, Harness, Ignitor, Mafs, Radiator, Sidemount I/C & Piping. $1600 for labor

S14 Blacktop - $3200 for Engine, transmission, Ecu, Harness, Ignitor, Mafs, Radiator, Sidemount I/C & Piping. $1600 for labor

S15 Blacktop - $4800 for Engine, transmission, Ecu, Harness, Ignitor, Mafs, Radiator, Sidemount I/C & Piping. $1800 for labor.

I was thinking of buying a cheap s13 and doing the s13blacktop swap and was wondering if that's the best deal I can get a trustworthy shop or not.. Any input guys? How much did you guys spend on your swaps?

Motorex humps you in the rectal region with slim-to-no lube. if you got the money to pay, then go for it. they know what theyre doing so you dont have to worry about shady work.

I didn't know Motorex was doing that... Good prices on the SR's. As for labor... well... I would just do the swap myself. If you live in So. Cal. don't forget about Signal. They also can do the swap for you.

You got a number to signal? or a website? I want to get some price quotes.

Phone # 310-787-0505 in Torrance. As for the website it's http://www.signalauto.co.jp/ but for some reason the website is giving me problems. LMK if that works out.

haha... If you want signal to do your work, u better have a swollen wallet before u walk in there. From what i remember an S13 swap was around 5000 bux including the engine as compared to 3700 from motorex...hmmmmm

phase2 is good stuff. I am not sure if they still do swaps but u can always give them a call...

I got my swap done at Cartune. They have a bad reputation on this board but i think their work is decent. Their pricing is not bad either. I got all my aftermarket parts there and the prices they gave me are always at least 10% lower than any other places on the internet. I would only suggest u to go there if you have time to go down there every other day to check up on them and make sure they get the job done. Cuz they do lag a lot.

IM me if you got more questions. My sn is hadokenny

signal - extremely expensive. they quoted me $1800 to do a KA motor and transmission swap on my car. i also have heard that some of their work is shady. i dont know firsthand so dont take my word for it.

I just called Phase2. Wayne told me that they're not doing swaps right now cuz their immersed in their own projects. He even told me that the motorex was a better deal and cheaper than them. Though he told me to get a hold of a guy named Ernie who does basic swaps out of his garage for good prices. Time to find out!
