Applying mainly to California people because of that damn visual test.

Think about it... aren't the RB26DETT and RB25DET considered street legal now that Skylines can be brought over? Wouldn't one be able to copy the layout/emissions equipment of the Skyline of their choice onto the 240sx or any other car for that matter, of their choice?

At the very least, would you be able to bring your car to Motorex and have them perform whatever they needed to make your RB engine swap "street legal"? What do you guys think?

I have talked to someone about this.

I said it would be possible.

It would not be cheap , but it would be possible.

If anyone wants to do it , and is SERIOUS - as in has at least $2-$3k to invest in not having to worry about the smog police - contact me.

There you have it, folks!! Gotta pay to play, but I suppose anybody talking seriously about the RB swap has appropraite funding available.

The plus side is, this would mean having a no-BS legit pass with the smog / illegal swap nazi police, even in the most strict region of all.

That 2-3k is just for the legalizing part right? Not any engine/swapage in that? Oh well, atleast there is an option now.

One person told me theyre trying to legalize the SR too. I have almost no hope of that ever happening though.

probably possible since you could get a s15 which already has a sr20. unless motorex only do skylines.

I dont think ive seen or heard of legal real S15s here in the states. I dont think theres enough of a market for it here for anyone to go through the work of making it legal.

Legal how? As we have seen, there are subtle levels of legality.

How can there be a smog-legal S15 if it uses an engine that is not smog legal, per the EPA?

2-3 k to START... may end up as high as 10 k for the FIRST car.

This is not including swap.

We talked about it a long time ago - when I worked at Motorex.

Other people were TALKING - about doing other cars....

Key word is TALKING....

Talk is cheap - actions cost MONEY...

No legal S15 in the US - its an OBD-II car - no OBD-II for SR20DET.

An SR however -1995 earlier could be legalized for California a few different ways....

Same as the RB 2-3 k to start maybe as much as 10k for the first car...
