really not that hard...but let me make a suggestion.

Get the MREV2 lower plenum and do them at the same time. You will get fantastic results on your 05 (if it's a 6MT) with both.

If it's an auto, then the install should be straight forward. Make sure you have an inch-lbs torque wrench. I give it a 4 on difficulty.

Here is a link on the install:

Hey Joe do you know what the difference is for the Rev-up and Non Rev engines? Why couldn't you use MREv on '04 engines?

The Motordyne MREV2 is the lower plenum from 03-04 G35s that is ported and polished. The non-REVUP engines already have it! The REVUP engine is in the 05-07 coupe and 05-06 sedan (6MT). If you don't have the REVUP engine the best thing to add is the spacer alone.

There are a few significant changes in the REVUP engine to bump the HP.

Check out the G-Series FAQ for model year highlights. (link in my sig)

not that bad of an install... torque wrench is a must!!! if you dont want CEL..

you will enjoy the new sound after about 4500 rpm... and boost in mid range power

A lot of G35X people use the H&R springs for the sedan. It will drop about 1.5" or so.

I think it looks great on the sedan at that height.

As for the MREV2, you would still get some performance gains from using this. Its just that it won't be as much as the REVUP motor. Because it is ported and polished you will probably pick up like 5-6 whp. You can sell the stock lower plenum for around $100. Its your call.

I think Motordyne will give you a core rebate/money with your plenum. The MREV2 is a non-revup plenum thats ported and polished.

i think i got lost in your post about which G's would benefit from the Motordyne MREV2..so the 03-04 G's already have it, but the 05-06 G's would be better off with it?..or visa versa? i'm only asking because im in the market for a motordyne 5/16" spacer..

Motordyne uses the lower plenum from automatic transmission models on 03-04 G35s. The benefit is for 6MT (manual transmission) 05-06 G35s. The will see the most gains. You can use it on any 03-07 coupe or 03-06 sedan, but the gains will not be as great.

Check out their website for more details.

The MREV2 is not ported..its just machined in specific areas. Not a real "polish" either...but smoothed out in some places.

Either way, the REVUP will make good gains with the MREV2.

I have my lower manifold machined like the MREV2 with a full polish and port matched to my intake collector. Its nice. Leaned me out a bit but i'll just adjust my tune. Good change for HP gains.
