I have a friend who was looking for a gently used RAV4 until I showed him the Rogue, now he is happy as a pig in s**t because he was looking at 2007 RAV's for around $27,000 Canadian, all of them have around 50,000 km and who knows how well they were taken care of, AND most of them have pretty minimal options (one of these didn't even have AC and they still wanted $27K!!!)!.

It looks like he's going to go for a Rogue SL FWD which the dealer will let him have for around $27,000 ish. Yeah I realize that the RAV's he was looking at had AWD and V6, but that is overkill for him and just not necessary. Those RAV's are probably not bad vehicles, but the used ones are just crazy high priced regardless of how many miles they have, it's completely out to lunch, and after driving a Rogue you realize that the RAV interior SUCKS!! Way to go Nissan for providing a great vehicle at a FAIR price! The only way I'd buy a Toyota is if I was planning on selling it within a few years, because then I'd get to be a member of the Toyota owners group who drive the crap outta their vehicle then overcharge the next owner "just because it's a Toyota".

Brutal? I find that surprising but I guess considering my other car, it probably influences my perception of the Rogue's ride quite a bit.

Well, that is one of the things I noticed about the Rogue, the suspension.I feels like my 08' Honda Element, when making turns you really feel it(hold on for your life The new CRV feels much better when making turns but is more bumpier, I owned an 07'(new body style).

Has anyone done anything to improve the suspension in the Rogue?

BTW, out of the Hondas 08' Element and 07'CRV, the Rogue has the softer ride and the road noise is so low.

silverboy, I don't know if I follow you....in what way do you think the suspension of the Rogue could be improved? You said that the Rogue suspension is a little softer than the Honda's you've had, so if you were going to improve the Rogue suspension you'd make it firmer?

I personally find it very firm as is, and in retrospect would prefer a slightly softer suspension so those road bumps don't feel so harsh, but overall I'm happy with it, you can't have everything in life and there's always a trade off for everything.

I've got the opposite impression of the suspension.

As per my subjective 'body roll' test, I think the Rogue could use an even stiffer suspension (or course there are other factors which affect body roll )

However, I do prefer the suspension over its peers (with the exception of the Subaru Forester), I find the soft suspension in both the CRV and the RAV4 negatively impact handling, cornering, etc. Just my personal taste though.

I didn't know that, thanks a lot for letting me know! I'll make sure he asks about the discount ASAP before it expires.....
