Hello Everyone, I haven’t found a thread to answer my question so I figured I should just post. Maybe later on this can be a resource for someone else. Ok let’s get to it, I have a 93’ NA 2+2 z32 (i know boring but I love the car). I need to do a reseal/rebuild on original motor in the car. But I have a parts car with a motor with much lower mileage. The Parts car motor will be called Motor 2 for this case while my original is motor 1. So motor 1 sits at 194k miles while Motor 2 is around 140k miles. I’d rather rebuild Motor 2 due to lower miles and the convince of not having the car undriveable during rebuild. My only concern is Motor 1 is a 93’ na and motor 2 is a 90’ na. Will the motors be swapable without a lot of extra hassle? I assume I will have to upgrade to new style injectors which is fine. I plan to get a new EFI harness from Z1 or CZP as well as a nistune ecu. Ultimately this “rebuild” will consist of maintenance and a few upgrades as well as emissions deletes. I DO NOT INTEND TO MAKE POWER. This was my first car and I want to keep it long term. If anyone has insight on if I can swap a 90’ na motor in I would love to hear your thoughts. I assume it’s possible but I want to make sure.

I seem to remember the 93 added variable valve timing, but if you swapped the ECU as well, I don't see why that would be a problem.

Huge undertaking, but as a 90 Z32 NA 2+2 owner, they're worth the extra effort!

If it were me, I'd swap in #2 for now, and put #1 on the stand for a proper complete rebuild, and swap it in next year.
