motor swap in a sentra question

hey guys..i was gunna buy a 240sx but i have a 2004 ser spec v in my driveway..and im doing an sr20det full build is there any way i could get that motor in my sentra without much hassle..if someone could give me a good break down id appreciate it greatly..Thanks a lot

A fwd sr won't swap well into a rwd chassis,and vise versa,u can make it fit but the cost out ways the gains

You have the SR20 you were building for the 240 but want to put it into the Spec V?

If you want to SR the spec get the SR out of the 2000-2001 2.0SE.

I'm new to this forum, but have a question in regards to a motor swap. I own a 2002 spec v and wondered would it be best to stay with the qr25 motor or the qr20? Thanks for the help.

The QR20 will swap into a Spec V with few hassles. It's not as powerful as the QR25, but the engines are half the cost and seem to be pretty reliable. That being said it is first and foremost an economy motor, and people who have done the swap say the 6-speed gearing doesn't feel right with the underpowered motor.

If your starting to get/ already have precat failure and don't have the $2,000 for another QR25, then the QR20 might be worth it if you just daily your car. Performance wise, don't get the QR20 and instead look into tuning your existing 2.5L or a VQ35 swap from a Maxima is a popular choice.
