Hello , im in the process of purchasing a 1992 240sx se. The block is blown but the head is still fuctional.

The thing is. I currently own a 1990 240sx and its a SOHC. I was wondering if its possible that the SOHC BLOCK will work properly with the DOHC head and so on. So far all i know is that the transmission should line up even.

For now due to stupid tickit fines. im just going to throw in the block into the 1992, and leave it automatic. But my 1990 240sx is a stick and i was thinking of converting the 1992 to a stick. How much will it cost as, in parts not labor, to accomplish? (Remember, i will have the transmission driveshafts etc from the 1990)

the dohc head swap on the sohc block has been done before. search for it and youll find it. and for wanting to convert your auto to manual, it will cost you nothing because you can use all parts needed off of your 90. good luck
