Im thinking about buying a new Ka for my 240sx its around 142,000 miles now and showing signs of weakness...But anwyays I can buy one from this guy I kno for 850 dollars it only has 55,000 miles on it but its out of a 98 240 ka24de but i have a 92 ka24de will it go into place smoothly since there the same engine basically or has some things changed over the years of production....Help please

yes, search for two more seconds and you'll find what you need to do to make it work

but tis no problem to make an S14 motor work in an S13

yeah actually there are 2 threads right above and below this one... one is mine.... you need to swap the intake and exhasut manifolds from the s13 motor to the s14 motor and then it will work but me and greazy ae currently trying to get ours running .... you might want to follow these threads ..

oh god, as long as we are going to keep discussing this..

use the exhaust manifold from the s13. you cant use a 96 or later o2 sensor, while im fairly certain you can use a 95 as it is only a single wire

the s14 exhaust manifold wont bolt up to your s13 exhaust. however there are badasses like s14 gt2510s that just made their own exhaust and used the s14 flanges, see, badass.

intake manifold can go a few routes. you can use the entire s13 intake manifold and use the s13 vaccum gallery for the swirl control valve on the back of the s14 head. only one bolt hole will line up with the existing vaccum gallery there.

or, be a total badass and use the s14 upper intake manifold with the lower s13 manifold (you could just use the lower s14 manifold in most cases, just inspect them closely and you will see the tiniest differences manily from 96 on)

this will get rid of the swirl control valve which some say doesnt open to wideopen and is a constant restriction. however it is nice for low end power production, so which do you want more ponies or more low end grunt?

if you go that route you must swap both the temperature sending units on the coolant outlet of the upper intake manifold, obviously you need s13 parts

you can use either oil pickup, the choice is yours no big dealio. you can use either knock sensor, oil pressure switch or alternator. i couldnt tell you about power steering i never checked, but if you want AC the s13 bracket can only be used with the s13 ac compressor and vice versa

you need the s13 distributer cuz of the external coil. plug wires are obviously cool from either, so are plugs. um, pulleys are all the same. i think the difference between the water pumps are the slot cut for the liquid gasket, but that might not even be true.

figure out how to make the s13 exhaust work as an intake cam and run the stock s14 exhaust cam, wire in the e fan and lose the mechanical and you got yourself a nice little beater

i know i wont remember what else i forgot until after i read this post...

my 93 motor has 142xxx on it and its just starting to rip, i'm not sure its ever seen better days

i bought a motor and transmission from a 96 for 700 with 61xxx on it. i bought another motor for 200 from a 95 with 120xxx on it. the 200 dollar motor was nasty looking inside but after rebuilding it it was still cheaper than my 61,xxx mile 500 dollar investment

dont pay 850 for just a motor, unless its built

Jigga total bad *** I used the whole s14 intake - the throttle body. I should see if you can use the s14 throttle body too. just to say I did JK. I removed the egr and pair valve at the same time. I just have to break in my clutch and the testing is on. You just have to make one adition to the vacume hoses and make your own hoses to the heater core and you are set + lengthen 1 connecter but that was easy. I have taken the car out for 2 test drives and it is a blast to drive. Next I need a set of rucas and tein super drift coilovers and I should be set with the welded diff. A header and exhaust wouldnt hurt either. This was done with a 95 ob1 engine so I dont know if 96 + is this easy

see, badass.

just to reiterate, you can just use that upper s14 and the lower s13 intake manifolds and no more modifications are necessary, except the sensor swap

i still use both my s13 uppers because i am a *****. i will switch it out, but not for the daily driver
