I have a question on reassmbling my rb25. I have the pistons out so I could inspect the bearing and rods. But in putting them back in I want to make sure the rings are in the right position. So I guess in what way should the rings be positioned on the piston? ( i was told they had to be a specific way) Now I didnt mess with them at all but still want to be sure they are put back in the correct way.

RB25 is the same as RB26This is from the FSM:

The front is to the left and the top, second, and oil ring openings are shown.

A lot of the installation data is found in the RB26 part of the manual. Aftermarket pistons usually come with general installation instructions too.

Ok heres another question. I put all the cam brackets for each side into seperate cups...but I didnt take a picture or mark them (didnt know they had a specific orientation. So if anyone has a picture of cam brackets installed so I can get mine put back together that would be helpful. Thanks.

Stand on the exhaust side of the motor and the I1-6 caps go on the intake side with the letters/numbers facing you from front to back (or left to right). Same thing goes for the exhaust side: E1-6 front to back. Both sets of cam caps are read upright from the exhaust side of the motor.

Hell yah! I'm doing everything within my physical and financial power to get this car up and running for that sole purpose. I have a good friend that lives near Omaha too, so I won't have to drive back to Des Moines at 5 a.m. like the guys did last year.

Nice! I just placed an order for my oil pump, timing belt, and misc parts so hopefully mine will be out and about in the next month. *crossing fingers*

My goal is pretty aggressive, but I want to have it running by May 1st. I have a ton of stuff to do and little funds left to do it, so we'll see. Might be June 1st at this rate.
