ok, i searched for ka20de's and td27t's and really found nothing, now i can get these 2 motors from my father in law, now the question would be does anyone know anyone who has modded a ka20 because i know about the td27t's they seem to last forever and stock the td comes with a whopping 98hp@4000 and 170ftlbs @2200 and is non intercooled, so ofcourse that plan would be new turbo, aftercooler, portmatching intake, full exhaust and ecu tune, but that a differnt story, the second question is how hard do you think it would be to fit the td27t in a 240, the ka20 should go right in and with a 86x86 bore(nice higher rpms) and almost what the ka24 makes as 123hp and 128ftlbs(which isnt near the 160ish the 24s make) would seem to be maybe a differnt change to the sr's...anyway sr's are not here in the usa(unless imported duh) and my father in law is in Honduras where everything but sr's are including the td, anyway it was just an idea i might build a td in a pathfinder anyway if i don tdo anything with my 240...anyway whats everyones opinion any are excepted other then drop a sr20 or turbo the ka24(already have plans for 1 turbo ka24des on 1 of my 3 240s) thanks everyone

is the KA20DE just a destroked KA24? What is it out of? I have never heard of it before. It still wouldn't really be capable of revving that high because it does not have a fully conterweighted crank shaft. I have no clue how putting in the td27 would go. I would think it would be mega heavy since it is a diesel, and wouldn't be able to rev high at all, and doesn't really generate alot more torque than a KA. At least the peak torque is at a low rpm.

Hopefully you will get more answers after this bump, because I am kind of curious now too.

the ka24 is a stroked ka20, so my idea was bore the ka20 from 86 to 89 then .30 over for after market pistons, balance and knife edge the crank and add a turbo...it came in trucks and minivans in japan(which they sold in honduras) as for the td yea it wont rev much and it is a bit heavyer but once it has a front mount and a new turbo and exhaust it could make almost 250ftlbs under 3000rpms....but like i said i might stay away from the diesel because id need new tank, lines and more stuff to change it over and i could just make a killer pathfinder that it came in stock...just ideas i got in my head, ill probly end up just staying with my 24 when it comes down to it...anyway
