So my problem is that the motor seems to be running hot. I changed the radiator fluids just now so far seems pretty good. my other problem is my RPM'sare rather high from 1k-1500. if any one knows what I could do to drop the RPMS to their original state I would greatly appreciate it.

ill be checking up on this thread in 30min-1h

Thanks

What engine is this?

anyways, theres an idle screw under the intake manifold (on the sr, maybe the ka too, I dont remember) near the throttle body. It looks like a plastic screw. Get a screw driver and turn it.

Clockwise = lower rpmCounter Clockwise = higher rpmif I recall correctly, every 1/4 turn will be like 200 rpm or something like that... just turn it moderately, rev it and let it sit to see where its idling at... don't go crazy on the idle screw...

hope that helps

its a Ka24E...I got popped by the 5-0 so I had to go see a ref. and it failed the smog test on noxs. right now my EGR valve it opening( its stuck at the bottom positions So i assume closed) and im checking the vacuum lines and im not getting no vacuum to open the EGR valve up so I'm checking my lines.

Bump.... (motor is a KA24E)

So I checked the Vacuum lines. but I have some questions for those who know the EGR system very well.

1. The EGR Control Solenoid...at the top of it it has a line that comes from the intake manifold to it, and the bottom of the solenoid it has 2 lines 1 line has a T-connection, 1 goes to the BPT valve (and then to the EGR) the other line goes to the charcoal canister. The 2 line goes to some other solenoids in the back of the motor.

on the BPT the top has 2 lines (one comes from the solenoid the other goes to the EGR like I mentioned ^) then the bottom of the BPT valve it has one line that goes to the hard line that brings exhaust fumes back into the intake manifold.

(heres a diagram:http://i2.photobucket.com/albu...m.jpg)

so my question is which line that hooks up to the BPT valve sucks to actuate the BPT valve in order to open the EGR valve? (the one from the solenoid or the one that brings fume back into manifold)

My EGR valve does work I hooked a vacuum tester and it opened. (then car was bogging)

Thanks and sorry for the long message

P.s. I also think this is a reason for my RPMs being at 1600, because the EGR isnt opening or something else could be going on with it.

after redlining the car the RPMS finally dropped, now I have an issue of getting my vacuum lines working properly to make the EGR work, if anyone has had any issues with the EGR vacuum lines let me know.

Thanks
