i have a 1995 240sx se with a bad motor. I need to get out cheep here so i was wondering if any of the truck motors are a possible fit as low milage 240 motors are hard to come by and truck motors are plentiful. I need to know what years would work and what to use off of the stock motor. thanks for the help

not the same engines. The truck used a KA24E till 97 then in the frontier in 98 they started using the DE motor but it is not the same as the 240 DE

y did nissan keep the E till 97 I thought the de was better.i've heard the E is easier to work on but thats not a good reason to keep the E for 7 extra years.is it?

That is a mystery to me to I think it likely had to do with emission standards. Trucks did not have to meet the more stringent standards of OBDII till 98. But it could have mearly been to keep the cost down on having to revamp the assembly line. Its really hard to say.

no the DE is a far superior engine to the E. As far as turbo goes if they both had comparable turbos the DE would still be superior.
