All,I bought some motor mounts through Carquest and just picked them up. They are identical to each other and I was under the impression that the RH and LH mount were different. Can anyone tell me off-hand what the difference between the mounts is? I think I'm going to return these and order Nismo mounts from Courtesy. All advice, comments, and flames welcome.

I'm not sure if there is a difference, I don't think so, but get the Nismo ones, they last longer and are pretty cheap for the whole set. (2 motor and transmission)

From what i hear the nismo mounts are taller than stock, not good for both fitment of engine/exhaust and center of gravity. Fill the stockers with urethane its cheaper and better imho.

edit: btw, off the top of my head im not sure on differences between Lh and Rh mounts. I think they are both same for ka but not for SR? only one of them is, or somethign like that.

RH motor mounts are for the right hand side, and LH is the left hand side.

If the mount is not ripped or broken, scrub it off with some gasoline and a brush, then fill up all the ribs with some urethane windsheild install glue. You can also liberally build up the outside with the urethane, works really well and your mounts will be nice and stiff after a day or two dry time. The urethane is a bit messy, what i found to work very nicely is spraying some wd 40 on my finger to massage the finished product nice and smooth.

3M Windo Weld is the stuff to use, around 15 per tube at glass shop and will do 2+ mounts.

I know the exhaust side mount has a little heat shield that is connected to it. And the intake side has a little clip to hold part of the harness. Little trivial things really. The studs that you bolt the little tid bits to might be different for those sides (but it doesnt matter since each tibit doesnt do much).

When I got my nismo mounts the intake side one had a special glossy coating on it. I assume it is to prevent oil from attacking the mount (since the filter is right above it), similar to nissilvat's problem.
