i need to get them replaced and i would like to get something stiffer than stock.i have done plenty of searching and the only ones that i hear about are the nismo ones that make the engine sit higher than stock (half inch or so), i don't want to throw off the angle of the drivetrain or not be able to have a front strut bar.i have seen cusco's name out there but no one has said if they have them or not and also filling them with either silicone or urethane, but i don't know if that means the stock ones or an aftermarket brand.i just bought a 93 240 5spd and am realizing there are quite a few problems , but i will not be giving up on this car and would like very much to make it stronger and more reliableplease help!

good lookin man, i found em' and they look pretty good, and the price sure is right!i am hoping that they are what they say and keep the stock profile, like i said i don't want to throw of the drivetrain at alli have heard some bad things about polyurethane though, but don't know whyalso these can be installed fairly easily correct? i installed a lower (dogbone style) on my cavalier, and it was fairly easy about two hours of pounding on it with a large hammer to get into place is there anywhere that i can find procedures doing this?thanks all

Couple ways you can do it.Professional procedure: Strap the engine to a cherry picker, make sure that it is snug, then unbolt your mounts. Slightly jack the engine up to slide the new mounts in. Slightly lower into place and retighten. On the driver side you will want to remove the AIV system so you can get your hands on the mounts, prior to the mounting procedure. If you have a hard time getting your hands on the passenger side you will want to temporarily remove intake manifold.

Ghetto fabulous procedure: Put a hydraulic jack underneath the car lift the car and put it on jack stands. Then take the jack and snug it to one of each side of the motor (do not seat on the oil pan, just around the bolts and gasket). Raplace one mount at a time and follow the same procedure removing the AIV, and the intake manifold, per jacking of the left and right sides.

I failed to mention that you will need to unbolt the transmission mounts before this procedure, and you might as well order new transmission mounts from NISMO or CUSCO as well and replace.

This has been brought up before! As for the Nismo's, They don't actually make your engine sit higher than stock, they take it back to the stock level! New stock motor mounts will do the same thing. Your old motor mounts have been on there for 5-13 years depending on your car. They have worn out and sagged down. Some Strut tower bar makers aren't smart enough to realize this, more experienced makers take this into account

are there any modifications needed when installing the nismo mounts?it seemed to me that these mounts were created for the sr20, which led me to beleive that they actually did raise the kade motor a little (it being a bigger motor than the sr20), but not true correct?i just want to replace with the best part possible, i know that aftermarket parts are just that, afermarket, so they werent necessarily created to be factory replacements.so i will have nothing to worry about with the nismo set (even the transmission mount as well) right?

SR and KA are interchangeable as long as it is the lower half of the mount that straps to the chassis. The rubber itself is just what it is, a denser rubber. As far as I know the hiegth will be adjusted within mm not inches, I wouldn't find it to be a big deal at all.

the cusco solid mount's works very well, more power transfer to ground than being lost to engine movement. with move engine vibration too.

I haven't gotten around to the Nismo motor mounts yet, but I did install a urethene transmission mount( bought from SPL) and it helped out a ton. It seems to be stiffer then the denser rubber of the Nismo transmission mount. But depending on where you are buying your mounts from, you can get the whole set, I opted to just buy the motor mounts indvidually, because my transmission like to shake like crazy after 5500 RPM's, which it defentily took care of that.

Just my 2 cents.
