What are side effects of motor mounts gone bad? No abnormalities observed shifting to drive/reverse.

Find a small hill with a Stop sign, accelerate turning right from the Stop if the car shudders.Or in drive hood open, BRAKES ON, accelerate to 1500 rpm does the motor twist more than 1.5".The 90-96 Q motor mounts are solid rubber mounted to the frame unlike the 97Q which has a rubbber isolated front subframe which secures the mounts [more slack].

Have seen mounts so broken [wornout] that they allowwed the engine to twist so much that it cracked the brake vacuum hose [no brakes suddenly].Mine lasted about 120,000 miles [8 years] with 117,000 on the second set in 4.5 years I am starting to feel see a little movement but it must be a function of age plus mileage.

Takes about 2.5-3 hours to get the car on lift, jack up the motor and change both. Probably have to remove drive shaft loosen transmission supports to get enough slack to push motor up 4 "...lots of screw jacks!
