hey, i have a 1990 nissan 240sx and i'm dropping in an sr20det in so i'm taking the motor mounts out and i'm also swapping my power steering lines with the 1991-94 240sx power steering lines

alright, well everything is ready for the sr to be dropped in except for i can't get the bloody old motor mounts out! one of the nuts one of of the moutns is beginning to get stripped, so i don't want to try it any more till i get some ideas and feedback. so if anyone could help me out with getting the mounts off, that would be great cause i might just try to fit a hacksaw in between the motor mounts and the frame and saw of the mounts.

now about the power steering, there's 2 lines going into the steering column, i've gotten one of the lines off. but the other line is giving me hell. i'm using a 13 metric wrench and it seems to keep strippen the line, so i'm just curious if anyone had trouble with their power steering lines or has another idea on how to take them out of the steering column.

thanks

Maybe drill it out if its starting to strip.

if I can remember correctly, you can take the mounts off from the top if the bottom nuts get stuck. The nut on my driver's side was stuck on there and I think i ended up taking it off from the top of the mount... (it's been a while, i'd have to look under my car to be sure). But i hope that helps...

For removing power steering/brake lines try not to use open end wrenches, invest the few dollars in some line wrenches, they make a world of difference.

i'm using line wrenchs which are called flare nut wrenchs i think, but ya it isn't doing me much good.

how did you take the mounts off from the top? because in order to do that don't you have to get that nut of the bottom of the mounts?

I meant the top of the actual mount
